If Rick gets fired the rockets need to take the new era approach. The old experienced 900+ wins coaches are not working out anymore except of course for Phil Jackson and that old Pop dude in San Antonio. Rick Adelman and Don Nelson will end up in the Hall of Fame for sure but today's players are just not digging these old dudes.. Also, a young "twitter/twitting" GM like Daryl Morey needs to interact with a younger coach and pretty much same goes for the players. Today's young NBA player are in a different era and they often have a hard time listening to the old timers..
Here are a few example of young coaches that seem to be working smoothly with their teams.. What do you think ??

I am frustrated with Adelman, but even more frustrated with Daryl Morey...

I think Adelman has made some mistakes but he isn't the problem with this team. Changing coaches would be nutso.

After AB and Yao return, it will take some time to sort out how this team should be handled. Adelman gets a pass for this year unless the players quit on him.

I like Rick and think he is a great coach BUT I've begun to wonder if he is the right coach for this particular team. He has had some interesting decisions this season but i'll give him the year before even thinking about it.

well all I'm trying to say is that in the event that Rick gets the boot, I hope the rockets go with some Young Hungry assistant coach sitting on the spurs, celtics, lakers, jazz, orlando bench etc...

No. If it was Tom Thibideax then yes. He got snatched up before we got smart enough to use him as coach. So there isnt anyone out there better than Rick Adelman. We need better players and better moves from Morey to help Rick.

from a coaching view we need a coach with a good defensive system
but this team even with Phil Jackson would suckkkkk because simply we do not have the players who play defense!

i think it might be time for one after this season.

the team will decide what direction to go over the summer in terms to win-now Vs. rebuild. with yao, shane, brooks, and RA hitting free agency there is a lot to decide.

if the rockets have a sucky year (looks like it so far) they may move on to rebuild mode by parting ways with older players, and finding a young up and coming coach. or they may decide to retain all of the above and go for it again next year.
