After seeing how much drama Parsons' out of context "quotes" caused, is it possible to label threads with false information as "misleading"?
IMO they should be closed immediately and the OP banned or given an infraction warning. It just leads to a hostile environment where the comments from posters are agenda based and devoid of facts
If I were a troll, I would jump in and post something like: "What do you mean? McHale needs to be fired. It's a FACT." And then this thread would turn into another battle ground.
Wouldn't the OP of whatever thread, have a link to what they want to discuss? I understand the need to punish random gossipers, but if User A posts a link to discuss something, and that link is later reprimanded by the original author, it's not User A's fault that the info was wrong.
It's not punishing the OP, it's labeling the thread title as misleading or misinformed or false information. Even now you still get a ton of people referencing the "quote" to reinforce whatever argument they bring up (like saying something along the lines of Lin getting a triple double because Harden played less selfish after getting called out by Parsons).
All those fans who thought tmac was solely responsible for the 22 game winning streak when he didn't play 22 games should get obliterated
