    Im here
    They way I see it
we lost 2 games to bottom teams (la lac)
1 to a pretender out east ( pains me to say it since wiz are my b team)

The other 2 losses (celts and okc)
one was a chokejob, which in the nba happens to every team at some point.

The okc loss is the most concerning, since they are in the west and a light contender.

I honestly don’t see how the OKC loss was concerning at all. It was a 5 point loss on the road while missing CP3. Russ shot 12-24, Melo shot 8-12, and PG shot 8-15. OKC shot 54% from the field. Despite all that, it was 110-107 with like a minute remaining.

How often will OKC’s Big 3 shoot like that? We’d beat them quite comfortably with our full rotation.

I know these past stretch of games have been bad. Even still these are the numbers.

9-4 against .500+ teams is a goood thing. That’s a 69% winning percentage against top teams and playoff contenders. Extrapolated for 82 games and that’s a 56-57 win team. That is impressive

16-5 against sub .500 teams is good as well. That’s a 76% winning percentage against bad teams. Extrapolated for 82 games and that’s a 62 win season. Also impressive.

Overall we are 25-9 still. That’s a winning percentage of 73.5% which is really freaking good. Extrapolated for 82 games and we are currently on pace for a 60 win season. That would be awesome.

Sure it would have been nice to win 3 out of the 5 losses and be at 82% win percentage but that’s not the case and at some point this season we were bound to hit a rough patch.

Take a second to read this next part.

The Rockets have lost 5 in a row yet find themselves as the 2nd best record in the NBA and only 2 games back from the 1st seed.

The season is long and no one should have expected us to continue playing at the 86% winning percentage we were playing at before this 5 game streak began. There was no way we were gonna continue playing at a 70-71 win pace.

Looking on the bright side, getting Green & Weber meaningful minutes is a big plus to this loosing streak. Maybe MDA will be able to use a 10 man rotation. o_O:eek::confused: Oh, I know....wishful thinking.

The thing about this losing streak is it’s not just the losing streak where we looked bad - we were down by double digits and outplayed badly for large portions of 3 games that we ended up winning at the end of the win streak because we were saved by some hot shooting quarters. It took heroic offensive efforts to pull us out of holes then - but we could easily be on an 8 game losing streak. Combine that with a stat I heard on a podcast during the win streak that The difference in Houston’s opponents expected FG% and their actually FG% was really stark - in other words, Houston was allowing teams good quality shots this season - teams just weren’t hitting them through the season. Now teams are hitting those shots and we are seeing the regression to the mean.

Defensively this team had made strides this year - you can see much improved communication in games but they still need to do a better job of forcing opponents into more contested 3pt shots or long 2s. This has all been exacerbated by 3 of our better defenders being out the last couple of weeks - Clint, Chris, and Luc....we NEED those guys back in the lineup and we need to keep improving as a team at lowering the expected fg% we allow opponents.

I'm not even close to panicking. This team will get healthy and back in synch. Morey will add some bench rotation insurance.

Get back on track starts on new years eve night vs Lakers. Go from there.

yep and that was just capela's 1st game back and he was just at 75%

    100% healthy cp3, capela, LMA

harden, gordon, ariza, & tucker hitting 38%+ from the three

10 minutes of defensive stopper Webber, 20 minutes of offensive weapon green

equal distribution of minutes to ensure everyone's fresh and minimize risk of injuries

our depth & health gonna dictate how far we gonna go Morey and MDA got their work cut out for them

and yeah 20M anderson is still killing us
