Looking for a new show to watch, and many people seemed to have enjoyed Lost. I watched 3 episodes, and I thought it was interesting, but sort of slow paced so I quickly lost interest. Wanted to know what your thoughts are and if its worth watching.
The first three seasons or so were great, but after that, the writers started tripping on acid and just said, "**** it" and started winging it. Don't expect to get many questions answered by series end. Check these out if you want http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=88359 http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=84490
The characters and their stories were what made the show for me. Great for the first 3 seasons then it started to go downhill in my opinion.
The first 3 seasons were amazing, then the 4th and 5th were pretty meh, and the 6th was just not good. The writers bit off far more than they could chew and left far too many mysteries and questions unexplained. I enjoyed it a lot, but there was a lot of frustration down the stretch due to storytelling.
so...its not worth watching? If only the first 3 seasons are good and then it starts going downhill, not sure i'd like that. people said the same about dexter. I know breaking bad is a gem, but I was kind of hoping for a show that is consistently good throughout.
I binged watched and sped up some parts where they slowed things to justify the Hawaii location. The last three seasons is a total mess but I still liked it because the characters were well made. The weakness in plot is somewhat a waste because the writers clearly had a backstory one could access online, but was never explicitly said on the show. This is one of those shows that wanted people to think it was smarter than it was only to fall flat on its promise. It's still a great show, and I think the negative backlash comes from the 7 years built yo for fans who watched when it aired.
The finial season was a bit of a let down for me. I know others that liked it and thought it ended well. Overall I think its worth watching.
You aren't going to find too many shows like that. Make no mistake LOST is worth going through the frustration. The wtf moments are still better than what is on now, even in what's considered the "Golden Age" of TV. You thought the first 3 episodes of LOST were slow? LOST had one of the best Pilots I have ever seen on television..
I enjoyed it. It felt a little bit like a soap opera after awhile. There were some good looking women on that show.
I'm about 80 episodes in on my 2nd time watching it. Let's say you only like 3 seasons (which is hard to understand personally) - that's still like 60 episodes of good television. Most shows now are like 10-13 episodes per season.
Might as well rekindle the argument Kate vs Sun vs Claire I give you promo shots vs real, dingy shots in the show when they are dirty. Kate always wins on that. I was always a Sun fan, despite Kate's incredibly, beautiful sweatiness. During it's run, Lost was great. The pilot totally hooked me like no show ever has or ever will. That all said, it isn't worth binge watching anymore. There are too many other great shows with fewer episodes.
