'91 was before Obama wrote his books- he was essentially an unknown. no internet, where would his agent have done her research? most likely, she would have called Obama. assuming she did, why did he say he was born in Kenya? and why was the info "corrected" in 2007? a thought: perhaps Obama claiming to be Kenyan is of a piece with Warren's claim to be cherokee. were there benefits available to international students that might have been attractive? perhaps there were, so he rode that horse as long as it was beneficial, then in 2007, prepping for a presidential run, went back and changed the records, or had them changed. edit: Fulbright scholarship?
