Remember that season: there were high expectations for Rockets as we had taken Mavs to 7 games the yr before. We had new faces and added athleticism with Stromile Swift, Derek Anderson Tmac got off to a good start, got injured and then was never the same, as he tried to play and had a brutal year while he missed 20+ games and shot 40% from the field. Our offense was awful, remember how angry we were with guys like David Wesley who could never make an open shot to save his life. We are having the same complaints about Shane and and Luther. Yao played hard but ended up sustaining injuries too because of not having enough support!! How eerily similar this season is, and to think all the reward we got for going to the lottery and having a horrible 05-06 season was Shane Battier, uhhhh, I hope Morey realizes that ,Eric Gordon, Derrick Rose, OJ Mayo can really be franchise changers

Thats good, then we can keep the 8th or so pick this time, and actually draft someone we will keep, its a pretty deep draft this year, anyway we can also trade Broke back T-Mac.

Trading Tmac might unfortunetely be the answer. iF the Rox don't make the playoffs this yr, and don't get a top 5 pick, I would think Morey would then look into trading him. Firing JVG was easy because people thought he was the problem, but it was really a move to protect Tmac, but not after this season

No way! That's crazy talk. We've got Rick Idleman and his fancy new offense. We're shooting the ball better than we ever have. Our defense hasn't slipped one notch. Our PGs are the envy of the league. Our PFs make KG and TD cringe. Yao isn't shying away from dominating. He's also looking incredible 17 feet away from the basket. TMac is playing with super high efficiency. Battier is gluing everything in sight. Hayes makes the Energizer Bunny look tired and old and he has a reliable 15 footer. Rafer is our clutch finisher making great plays in the paint and is now a possible ASG three point shooting contestant.

As well as we're playing now, wait until the All Star Break when the full fury of the Rockets and their new system is unleashed. Women and children will run and hide. Other teams will want the Rockets' autographs after the blowout. And, to top it all off, we will go 15-0 in the playoffs and win each game by an average of 20 points.

    Sorry folks. I was wrong.

We'll go 16-0 in the playoffs.

I just don't think we can get anyone decent in a trade for TMac. There isn't a GM dumb enough. Wait ... maybe we can work out something with the Knicks....

Season 05-06 is really different than this season.

The only things that are in common is record and thats all.

Plus we have more deeper team than in season 05 06,that's the fact.

    Don't underestimate the Rockets.

Adelman would never beat Denver and cost the team Brandon Roy.

LOL, still trying to blame JVG for problems with the team now? What happened to dropping all that stuff? Now you want to blame last year's coach for this year's problem? What a joke.

If you believe in karma...it explains a lot of the season so far.

Thank you Les Alexander for handling the GM and Head Coach decisions the complete wrong way. Now we, the fans have to sit through your bad karma.

That draft was the "perfect storm" of circumstances. It will probably be years before we're that lucky again. It's not just a matter of the player being available, but having the foresight, and vision necessary in order to draft and develop them, and that's what is really making this season unbearable. As the Rockets continue to slide, Rudy Gay continues to improve.

THE ROCKETS WERE NOT GOING TO DRAFT RUDY GAY. THAT PICK WAS FOR MEMPHIS.

THE ROCKETS WERE GOING TO TAKE SEFALOSA IF THEY KEPT THAT PICK.

    GET THE F OVER IT.

Which is still irrelevant to the discussion since they COULD have drafted Gay with no trades, or what if's required. The fact that they were going to make a different mistake is hardly a good excuse.

There's just no point in harping on this trade anymore. He doesn't play for the Rockets and probable never will. What's done is done.

By no means am I a Shane defender, but this conversation does absolutely no good.

People keep saying that like it makes it any better. Even if we kept the pick and drafted Thabo Sef, we still would have made a bad choice by NOT selecting Rudy Gay. Either way, we passed up on Gay. "Blah blah blah, WE WERN'T GOING TO DRAFT GAY!!" Yeah, like it would be any different if we drafted Thabo. Regardless of what went down, we had the chance to get Gay and we did not.

Blame who you want, the fact is that the fans are not happy that we did not get Gay. Even if we were drafting someone else had we kept the pick. We had the chance and passed up on it. That whole "We wern't drafting Gay" argument is useless because fans would be saying the same thing today if we drafted Thabo.

I guess I'd just rather talk about things that this team can control instead of focusing on things outside of the team. There's no point in discussing something that's irreversible.

Yes, they screwed up that draft. But if the "hating" of McGrady is getting old, then this belongs on that same list of things that are getting old.

LOL, c'mon dude, this is a forum. More importanly, the Clutchfans forum. Fans are going to complain about anything and everything, all the time. From hating on McGrady to Wrong draft decision to Yao Ming's softness. Basically anything negative you can think of, there is a thread on it. That includes past, present and future.
