I hope Harden and Curry get to hash this argument out in person in the WCF, then we'll see who's right.
Look, Curry's certainly an MVP candidate- probably going to be the MVP. Personally, I vote Harden based on our injury situation, but in keeping with the usual best-player-on-best-team, they'll probably give it to Curry. Although, if you think about 1994, Hakeem got the MVP when we were the 2nd best team in the NBA- Seattle won 64 that year and we won 58. I'm sure there was talk at the time about possibly giving it to Payton or Kemp. But Hakeem was just too dominant. Hopefully, this year is like that. Or, better yet, it's like 1995, they award the MVP trophy to Curry on GS' home floor, and Harden proceeds to drop 45 and 13 on them as we take the first game of the WCF. We can only Dream.
This is why Curry will win the MVP Nothing to do with this game and everything to do with the fact that the Warriors lost out for the other two awards in which they had a great chance and were expected to win one or both- Coach of the year and DPOY. No way the media lets Curry lose out on MVP thereby the Warriors missing out on all the major awards. Not happening. I've made my peace with the fact that the media will screw Harden out of the MVP. It's done. I hope I'm wrong but I doubt it.
LOL Harden is not being screwed in any shape, way or form. Both are deserving MVP's. You could clearly make a case for both of them and you can't go wrong with either of them. In the end Curry will win the MVP and deservedly so and Harden will come a close second.
All the voting is done at the same time. No one knew who was going to win COY or DPOY when they voted for MVP. The conspiracies here are just silly. Voters are going to vote on who they think was the MVP. That's it. They aren't going to award it based on some need to right a wrong (that they created) or whatever.
Curry deserves the MVP. He is so good out there on the court that you have to respect it. Harden impacts the game in a lot of different ways and that's why I would vote him for MVP, but no way can I complain should Curry win it. Dude is a great player and people love playing with him.
