A couple of days ago I heard a national guy on the radio (maybe Rob Rang?) that said he was pushing hard for the Texans to draft Manziel before the draft, but now, after his "antics" he wouldn't spend a 1st round pick on him. This is the only viewpoint that makes me shake my head. How could you not know this is who he was? If you think the partying isn't a big deal, I don't really agree, but I get it. But to be shocked that Manziel likes to party very hard and very publicly? Anybody who thought Manziel was going to suddenly turn into a choir boy because he was in the NFL is an idiot.
The only reason that Case is still here is because he was the only backup on he roster that isn't either a very raw rookie or completely incompetent. The only way Case sees the field is if Fitz is completely debilitated.
That's like $300 in $1 bills....big whoop. If he had a stack of $20's like that at a club...that's what you'll call ballin.
Still holds true He may go on to be successful and all is well but Johnny is gonna Johnny! No stopping him! But, but, but I'm just a simple guy, small town kid! Spoiler
If Manziel had the pedigree of Luck coming out, he'd have been the #1 pick overall to us. There can be TMZ photos of him doing all sorts of crazy stuff and we still would've taken him Number One and be hyped about it. Manziel's issue has always been because he's not that good of a quarterback prospect. Change his school to Fresno State and he'd have been a 2nd rounder.
I was with you until that last sentence. School means very, very little these days when it comes to where prospects are taken. If you have decent enough bowl games, pro days, private workouts and the like, you'll go 1st round. Rest of your post was spot f'n on, fam.
Yeah but bowl games are tied to the school you go to in a lot of ways. If Manziel went to Fresno St or UH for example he wouldn't have ended up in really good bowl games, wouldn't have had the Heisman, fewer people would have payed attention to his pro day, he'd have had fewer private workouts scheduled, and fewer people would make excuses for or turn a blind eye to his many flaws as a prospect.
School matters when you are surrounded by the physically dominant weapons he had to throw to and on line.
I thought a lot of what made him such a highly touted prospect has to do with his "IT" factor. Like his winning and doing well in the big games and being clutch, etc. I was simply doubting his ability to show that IT factor in a smaller school.
Any elite QBs ever act like Johnny? Anyone? Didn't think so. This dude is going to fail so hard. Don't get how anyone can defend his antics and think this is what successful people do.
Well, what QB's of any sort have acted like Johnny? You're pulling from a non-existent sample size. He acted the same way in college and dominated. Who else has done that?
Yep, also who has acted like him in the age of social media? It was easier to be a douchebag once upon a time....
Who cares? If he produces on the field, why does any of this matter? Work hard, play hard, nothibg wrong with that
Who cares what he does off the field. The majority of athletes whether they are in the NBA, NFL, etc. do this. They just dont get put in the spot light because they are not johnny maziel. Most of our Rockets players go to the club after home games and no one seems to complain.
