I don't see any Lin Fans in this thread claiming him to be an all star or that he deserves to be in the all star game. All I see is the usual suspects stirring things up and calling out lin fans. I remember back when we were always complaining about a lack of national coverage and how the media ignores Houston blah blah. Now we are getting love in the media ( = bandwagon fans) Everyone is complaining. The worst thing is that moderators just sits around and does nothing, I guess more page clicks is always a good thing no matter what the content is.
You were actually on my ignore list so I had click on the "view post" button. Good news is that I took you off, this post is deluded to the point that it provides the hilarity we all need.
Same here. My reason should be everyone's reason. Pros Increases our players marketing power, national& local popularity, Increases our team marketing power, national&local popularity, Shows our fan support= increases influence nba players to come here. Likely to happen if they become all stars: More Asians discover Jeremy Lin, more teeny boppers discover chandler parsons, beard enthusiasts discover Harden, and Disney fans find Dwight Howard = Merchandise/tickets sales more likely to increase. Rockets receive more funds, Houston economy slightly increase. Texas economy slightly increase. So many reasons to vote for our players. Just do it and who cares if Lin and parsons make it. Shows how great our fan base is!
of course the reason ( partially) Lin gets alot of votes is because he is asian, the same reason why he wasn't offered a D1 scholarship coming out of Highschool. The same reason why he was offered a nike shoe contract even though he was undrafted. The same reason he was Undrafted in the first place. as much as you want to ignore it Race plays a apart in everything that he does because he is a minority in the NBA Just like how it translates in the real world. And please don't compare him to Yao or Yao to Dmo.. Yao was a number 1 draft pick, he was expected to be great ( and he was great ) He was a freak physically and he would have been no 1 or 2 option on any team under any coach.
Since Lin has more votes than Harden, and so don't take ASG too seriously. This has nothing to do with how good a player plays basketball.
Unless he averages 80 points per game until the ASG he isn't. Commissioner picks injured starter replacements.
I bet a lot of a Harden voters are not feeling much love for Lin. If both combine I bet Lin would be high up there as well as Harden.
They picked him #1. Mchale would have no choice but to play him and Yao if he did not get injured would have a ring and be a hall of famer.
You saying there is a voter's fraud? Last I checked Kobe is top and Lin is 4th in the backcourt votes.
Seriously, if ASB is about marketing and exposure versus pure talent, don't be surprise if the League just goes with the 4th spot (if Kobe and CP3 can't play). If you want it based on pure talent alone you have to go with pure data and no human voting (even coaches have their own bias).
