Thibs is a JVG guy. If Les burned the bridge with JVG, Thibs isn't gonna work for Les.

Correct...Pops has 5 (all as coach), Riley with 7 (5 as coach (4 LAL, 1 MIA), 2 as MIA executive).

Thibs wouldve still picked Minny...The Chance to coach budding superstars...OR

    Coach James Harden...alone...

The Rockets need a system. And I expect that the Rockets address that this offseason. They need an offense that gets easy shots at the two key spots on the court Morey loves...at the rim and from 3. In order to have the Golden State success, they MUST develop a uber efficient offense.

Thibs, as expected, wants complete control. Morey is at the point where he has no choice but to relinquish a little power, but he would never let Thibs come here and run the ship.

So I see he got 10-11 million a year.
Wonder if ever Popovich or Carlisle decided to sign elsewhere how much they would get.
I think Pop could easilly get 20 a year.

Not just HC, but Coach-GM. Morey would've needed to step down first for the Rockets to be serious contenders to sign Thibs.

I always wonder, instead of paying for a player for usd22mill and not getting his max potential, let alone effecting the whole team, why we never tried to offer same amount to Pop? He might make usd5mill player play like usd15mill player.

yeah, good point. i was wondering earlier how much it would take to get pop to leave the spurs. probably no amount, but i thought it would be interesting to make the offer.

Well.... Only shot we had at these coaches was not making the playoffs. So now not only did we lose a 1st round pick, but we lost possible coaching candidates. Although I'm actually okay with losing Brookes (possibly), now Thibs though would have been interesting. But, I really don't know if he'd come here if he'd have to puppet for Morey. He also wanted more control.

If thibs wanted houston hè would have waited another week for us to be out of the play offs. Minesota is a better situation for him. Us making the play offs has nothing to do with it.

Thibs took the Wolves gig quick because it included elements of roster control.
