They didn't trade up because they didn't want Bridgewater.

I would be OK with that.

Point being... We would have hope on the bench. Instead we have a coke head and Savage.

Now the Texans are going to reach on a QB, i.e. Bryce Petty or Hundley.

Have you taken a look at their receivers? Gordan and Cameron both out for that game. If Fitzpatrick put up that line in a game where both Hopkins and AJ were out, I'd find that pretty damn impressive.

What? You just said Schuab was the only hope to turn things around. But he didn't do that. So that means you were wrong. That seems pretty clear.

The way everything is panning out Texans probably will be bad enough to get a good QB next year. Have no faith in our front office to actually draft competently though. All it takes is several more above average, game manager games from Fitz and then the Texans are suddenly not looking for a QB anymore.

Heck... XSFmight not have been the best rookie guard on the field yesterday... Weston Richburg played a really solid game.

How would it be any different than our situation now with Savage?

That was their only hope, Schaub didn't turn things around so the team was doomed....seems like I was right.

I think you're missing what Bobby is saying.. he was saying that if Schaub didn't turn things around, neither would the Texans. Schaub never turned things around, and neither did the Texans.

They're making slightly different arguments--Victotorious is saying that Schaub had no chance of fixing his problems as evidenced by him failing to do so. Not that I buy the "because it didn't happen it couldn't have happened" thinking.

Back to the topic at hand--Bridgewater would likely be 3rd on the depth chart here. It's clear BOB feels like motivating rookie-3rd year players is more important than playing them. It will be a long while before we can determine if this draft was a success or generally if BOB's development of players is successful.

Wrong. If the Texans drafted Bridgewater they wouldn't have panicked and traded for coke head ryan mallet.

What makes you think that? There's no way BOB would risk having to play a rookie who wouldn't have time to learn his system. Anyone they picked would have been 3rd on the depth chart either behind Keenum or Mallett.

With the trash we have at qb it's hard to believe bortles or teddy b would be on the bench.

Well if we wanted Bortles we'd have had to use the first pick on him, he'd probably start based on that alone......of course that's why I didn't think there was any chance it would happen. As to Bridgewater, he couldn't even beat out Cassel, how would he be any different than Savage?

Pretty sure Cassell would start over Fitz.

They were bringing him along slowly. From your statement you must believe Bortles couldn't beat out Henne

What's your point? Does that change that Fitz would start over Bridgewater? No, of course not.

Completely different situation, Cassel outplayed Bridgewater, that wasn't the case in Jacksonville.

    Not true at all.

Minnesota said all along that Bridgewater was going to start the season on the pine.

Who knows but, you minimized Teddy by comparing him to a player who is better than our current starter. Just bad reasoning on your part. Also add the fact Bridge looked far more competent than Savage in the preseason.

Well yeah, they had a much better starter, it was obvious he wasn't going to start, that has nothing to do with the fact that he also got outplayed in the preseason.

The point is that it's irrelevant, Cassel, Fitz, Mallett....Bridgewater wasn't going to start over any of those guys if for no other reason than he has no experience with BOB's system. Shouldn't be hard to understand.
