They didn't trade up because they didn't want Bridgewater.

Would be crazy if Blue turns out to be our best 2014 pick.

The Ferarri is in the shop, come back in a month or so and watch him take a few laps before the engine over heats.

Teddy and Blake both looked good. No way we take Bortles over Clowney but man...did BoB really think Teddy couldn't handle his system? Jags and Vikings on the radar to watch for sure.

There was another 1st round QB drafted this year too. Name escapes me at the moment though.

Really? They look good? Based on what? Both got their first shot last week, Bortles threw 2 picks and Teddy only managed to get his team in field goal range twice against the weakest pass D in the NFL. How is either "looking good"?

    you crack me up.

it's like your ears burn every time someone talks about Teddy.

i have a feeling that no matter what Teddy does, you will have a negative twist on it.

I like Teddy. I also like Bortles. I'm not a fan of Manziel or Jimmy G. Carr wasn't coming here no matter what any of us thought of him. They liked Bortles a lot and he was probably by far their top guy but they weren't going to take him over Clowney at one and if they had traded down to 5 or 6 then Bortles would have been gone as well. Rumors were that them and some other teams would have traded up if Bortles had fallen to the late teens but it wasn't meant to be. Teddy was there for the taking and they chose not to trade up one spot. That was O'Brien's call and right now I am going to give him the benefit of the doubt. He isn't an idiot. I'm guessing he knows how important having a decent qb is and he has a plan for the future of the QB position on this team. Poor play at that position will have him unemployed in two or three seasons. He knows this. The buzz is that the Texans are scouting the college quarterbacks of the 2015 class extremely closely (Mariota, Cook, Hundley, Mannion, Hogan, Petty, possibly Winston). They also have guys like Savage and Mallett in house that will be under O'Brien's close watch. Then you have trade targets in the offseason like Cousins (or maybe RG3). He'll have his guy in place by the start of year two most likely.

The Texans were far more afraid of making a QB mistake/commitment in the first few rounds than with any other positions (can't say I blame them). It's still too early to tell, but it looks like there will be a lot of early round busts. Texans included.

    Go Texans!
