What's the excuse for Westbrook being bad the last three years in the playoffs....pretty sure he didnt have a quad injury or covid then? What's the excuse.? People act like a hot stretch in the regular season means anything against playoff defenses.

I wouldn't say it payed off. We got rid of too many players who weren't guards, threw in draft picks, didn't win a Championship, and repeated it with Westbrook. All our money goes basically to 3 guards.

Ask Morey. He wanted to go for a guard who as you say couldn't do well in playoffs and not forwards and Centers who could.

OK, Tillman wanted two star guards and a shell. Was it his idea to do the same with Paul too, or was it Morey's idea to give away half the team and draft picks to play with with 2 star guards? Who decided to get rid of Hartenstein and Clint?

We traded away Clint because of Westbrook(and he got injured :(). Having Hartesnstein on the roster doesnt win us a championship. Id be happy to have Chris Paul on this team though. I think if we dont trade him, trade for Covington and then use our other picks for someone like Christian Woods or another low cost center, we have a pretty good shot at the title. Morey probably shouldnt have paid Gordon that much though.

Chris won't win us a Championship. We'd be even smaller and even do worse at rebounding than we already are. Wouldn't you rather have a star who is a defensive and offensive threat at the rim for that kind of money?

He's a championship player. The rebounds we would lose with Cp3 are made up for with the shooting, decision making, defense and overall leadership that he provides. I would rather have a player who impacts the team offense and defense as a whole. I would also like a guy to run the team when Harden is on the bench. Cp3 was that guy. I would take Lillard over pretty much any good big that you could probably get to come here sans Giannis or Anthony Davis.

Well, no Champions in the past few years did it with all their money on a couple guards. They all had big guys to rebound and protect the rim with star quality.

We would have had someone like Christian Wood or a small ball center(or SOMEONE) period if we didnt make the Westbrook trade. Also I dont subscribe to the idea that there is only one way to win a championship.

Or if we hadn't traded for Paul the first time and gave away all those players and draft picks. We screwed our future on that gamble.

How in the Heck would we be worse at rebounding with Chris Paul!? With Chris Paul we would be able to have a Center because the man can shoot and space the floor. Westbrick couldn't hit a shot even if his life depended on it. We could have even used an 80 yr old tyson chandler last season if we still had Paul. The whole idea of getting rid of center was because westbrook is a center in a midget's body! Westbrook = Giannis of the Dwarf league!

Some of the best years of this franchise(the last 2) have come with Chris Paul in the lineup. 65 win season, should have beaten the GOAT team and the next year he had a down year and we still competed. You absolutely do that trade 10/10 times. And look at how much value Trez, Lou and Harrel have now.....almost nothing. Trading for Westbrook was the mistake, not trading for Chris Paul imo.

Gary Clark went on to have success in the league, too. He is by no means an all star but a solid rotation player on a team that is loaded with bigs. He got a few starts to help the Magic through some injuries. Why was he just cut? I never really got an understanding of why. He seemed to fill a need and then just let go.

Westbrook did better before we got rid of Clint.

We'll never agree on that so no sense beating a dead horse. You wanted Paul and I didn't. I wanted a star other than a little guard when we already had a star guard. Besides, Paul's a dirty player who is best at nut blows and flopping.

It's just weird that you saw the success happen before your eyes and you deny it. We've seen plenty of times that Harden can't handle the burden of creating a lone. You need another play maker on the team. Everyone in the NBA flops....the nut punches are bad though.

He never did as good before we got rid of Clint....like not even close, at least in terms of efficiency.

He went berserk after the Clint trade where he had a Free highway towards the basket without Clint. However the difference in the playoffs is teams will figure him out and pack the paint henceforth forcing hm into being a jump shooter which is not a pretty scenario as evident by the disastrous lakers series.

If Russ had a reliable three ball there is no way anyone could guard him.You combined his insane athletic ability with a three ball its good night NBA.!

His horrific decision making is another issue that needs fixing. This will be a long offseason.
