I legitimately believe in this team too - I think they are still underdogs in a 7 game series against Golden State - maybe even severe underdogs BUT they have a real chance and that's more than you could say about just about any team since the Lebron/Cavs title team - and remember it took more than a little luck for them to have a chance. If Houston catches a few breaks they certainly could swing a few games to put the series in their favor. The sad thing is this is a surefire title team in any other year except the one where they play Steph/Klay/KD.

The Rockets shouldn't let it go to their heads though - the media narrative will be that the Rockets are legit foils for GS because the media doesn't really have much drama for another GS title run - they are going to play this up because that's a much more interesting story if true than GS dominating everyone else on their way to the title - but don't fall for it. The media personalities by and large don't really believe in Houston but they are going to say they do to create some sort of drama. It's unfortunate, because it will probably motivate the Warriors so there won't be as much of an opportunity to sneak up on them since the Warriors are eagerly awaiting their next matchup against us to prove a point.

...also it's worth noting - if we had been San Antonio and had just won the season series against the Warriors, Pops would have told them to keep their mouths shut and not say things publicly like "we are just as good as them". I'm just saying - staying under the radar has it's value when it comes to being misjudged and sneaking up on an opponent.

 

If we play GSW again this season, it will be in WCF with a potential trip to the Finals in the line.

If that doesn't motivate both teams, I don't think anything said in the middle of January would either
