Here we go... the TEAM stats since Tmac 'announced' his recent knee problems...

    Games Played: 4 (4-0)
    OPP PPG: 83.5
    PPG: 100.0
    OPP FG%: 40.6
    FG%: 45.5
    Diff: 16.5

This team really NEEDS Tmac's presence...I agree.

Obviously with Tmac the past four games we'd be...

    4-0
    allow 70 ppg
    score 120 ppg
    force opp to shoot 30%
    shoot 50%
and Diff would be 30 points

seeing as how his last game he played for the Rockets was against the Bucks missing about all of their best players minus Jefferson and we were smacked by them.

Ncagg, I agree with most of the things you are saying except for the Yao part. Yes he doesnt play like the average big man. Yes at times he is scared to dunk. Yes the agressiveness isn't always there, but having someone of his nature helps alot. Look at the sucsess vs GSW for example. None of they could hold Yao. Yao ming being on the team brings alot of money to the rockets. He has things he needs to work on, but he will be ok.

While i don´t agree with many things such as your critics offensively, i think Yao is most reliable than effective as a defender, while he can sometimes make it harder for the PG and 2 guards to penetrate i think Tony Parker, Kobe Bryant, Manu Ginobili, Deron Williams and all the great penetratoors in the NBA find no real opposition in Yao as a defender than a standing wall that they have to ove to avoid, once avoided is just a big wall.

No player seems affected by him the way other great defenders affected the opposing guards, such as Hakeem, the admiral, duncan, shaq or even dwight howard right now.

I completely agree once he misses a shot and the other team starts a break, not a fast break, Yao will diminish the capacity of the team for the next 10 seconds, that what he virtualy takes to land, change direction, go back, and position himself defensively, so i sometimes think that he cost us half the points he scores.

Offensively i think he is good, not great, but good for now a days bigs, clearly above average, he may clog the lane, but he is effective with his touches, and he creates a lot of opportunities, just not for penetrator, but for shooters and the other bigs on the team.

While i agree cloggin the lane is a defect, many players have defects offensively that are ignored by the coach because of what the player actually brings.

Examples, Kobe is not that great spotting up, but if he wants to the team will give him the shot, Tony Parker is a ballhog but he scores many times he hogs the ball, Ginobili is out of control but it works out, Howard has no post game, but he will score more often than not, plus he is below average passer.

If you ask me the perfect offensive player for a big, i would say TD, he has an offensive game from midrange, great post moves, but more important, speed that makes him very easy to feed, i think that is yao most hurting characteristic, and is something that can be tweaked by the coach by creating a second post play for scola every time yao cannot be fed.

Scola can also create in the post, and when given the ball to him, Yao will end most likely single covered, a quick revertion can get him the ball again, and if he continues to be doble covered i believe scola can post up any single player quite well to say he is a viable score option in the post (against a single coverage).

As a resume i think Yao has weakneses that affect the team, is maybe the only star in the game that is near useless for some game situations (last year was very notable some games that Adelman ended the games without him) but in the end, he is a great pickup for us and a player that can be used as cornerstone of a team, just maybe more difficult to surround, but never the less a valid option.

Solid post agree with a lot of your posts, like I said I am not saying Yao is horrible, I am saying a lot of his weaknesses hurt our team. In the long run it is about our team.

Do you actually watch any of those other centers you cited? No big guy is going to be able to guard a little guy out on the perimeter. That's what's called a mismatch. The best you can do is hope that your little guys keep their little guys out of the paint, because once that other guard penetrates there's a world of hurt they can put on you.

Why are you so nit picky on Tracy?
I watched Tracy last season hold his head high and carry us to a 22 game win streak, a valiant effort in the playoffs, despite losing Yao and having the media tell him he couldn't get out of the first round. I watched him struggle with an injury and be frustrated, and I watched everyone throw him under the bus. There was a thread on this forum to the theme of "hey tracy, i hope your rehab is horrible and you never return to the game" and responses I hope you die, jump in on coming traffic etc. Are you kidding me? Everyone loved this guy a year ago and now we are wishing for his death? In a sport? Entertainment? Seriously?

I think an unhealthy mcgrady this season killed our team. I am so glad he decided to shut it down this season. But let me tell you, if you say a healthy mcgrady isn't worth a crap to this team, you need your head checked. Thats like saying a healthy LT would have hurt the chargers in the playoffs, or if Tom Brady was here this season the patriots would have been lucky to be 8-8, or KG leaving the Celts for 3 weeks is just what they need.

A HEALTHY T Mac is valuable, whether you like it or not. Quit Overrating his off the court behavior. You all look like a bunch of damn fools, seriously.

Will he be healthy again? probably not
Will we need his services in the future? Most likely not

But guess what, his services up to this season were needed, and we enjoyed good moments because of his doing. The supporting cast sucked (and don't say it was good becuase yall just finished telling me that Yao ahs nothing, so you cant change the story for Tracy) and he still had us being competitive in arguably the strongest conference the NBA has ever seen for this long of a stretch.

Haha, by no means am I any sort of basketball specialist, football you could say, but basketball I have never coached or been on any sort of staff. I have watched just as much basketball as the rest of you, and love my houston rockets. I am excited about their recent play, but this next month will be the true test, can't wait to see what kind of run we make.

A healthy T-Mac is not valuable if he doesn't

    1) Move without the ball
    2) Run
    3) Stop being a black hole on offense
    4) Play defense

Even when the guy was healthy he was lousy at all four of those. He's done, good riddance, and the Rockets are better without him.

If he tries to come back the Rockets should lock him out of the stadium. Not that that's going to happen--my guess is he won't put on a Rockets uniform because he knows he'll be booed out of the Toyota Center.

Your so called leaders need to have heart and effort every night.

Tracy will NEVER win as a leader of a team............

Ron is an inferior talent to Tracy, but he is someone that his teammates
would go to war with. Rocket fans(and supposably players) are fed up
    with Tracys act.

i don't like this pessimistic attitude towards your rockets. you are absolutely wrong in every sense. Houston, is finally coming together and being consistent on both ends of the floor. Yao Ming is one of the BEST players in the NBA, period. He's an allstar for a reason homie. New orleans is NOT playing good at all, Dallas just got an ass whooping from us. Our record is very good, considering our recent troubles and drama. now that we are finally all on the same page, i see the rockets making a push for the 2nd or 3rd seed, 4rth at the least.

    1) Move without the ball- I agree. How much does Yao and Battier though as well? You cannot just single him out, we have a few guys with this problem.
    2) I saw him run plenty I don't really think this was much of a problem
    3) black hole on offense? He lead our team in assists a majority of the games when he was healthy.
    4) You are thinking of this year, because before this year I rarely saw his guy tear him up, or his guy score an easy bucket.

I agree if a healthy T-Mac has problems 1-4 he isn't very valuable, the problem is I don't really think he has those as bad as you think, you just have recent memory going through your head. Plus like I stated earlier, there are plenty of people that start on our team that have the same problem
