    1. Steve Francis simply isn't capable of getting 13 points in 35 seconds at the end of a game.

    2. Yao now has the longest tenure of any Rocket player. He shouldn't have to defer to anyone other than perhaps T-Mac.

    3. Chemistry: Everyone seems happy with his role. No worries about trying to get playing time for an undeserving European "star."

    4. CD is GM of the year.

    5. These guys are about taking care of business, not about looking cool. There's not a single headband-wearing
socks-up-to-his-knees doofus on the entire team. Even Moochie is bringing a bit of dignity this time around.

    6. Last year, we had a legitimate chance at getting to round 2. This year, we have a legitimate chance at getting to the finals.

    7. Nobody skipping as they bring the ball upcourt.

    8. This year's MVP? Charlie Ward, for getting on the injured list early and forcing CD to get creative.

    9. Last year's first 4 off the bench: Maurice Taylor, Mark Jackson, Scott Padgett, Bostjan Nachbar.
This year's first 4 off the bench: Mike James, Jon Barry, Dikembe Mutombo, Scott Padgett.

    10. When the team's playing well, JVG's frankness with the press becomes not only bearable, but actually kind of fun.

1&2- It's a tie- Our superstars are super. TMac is insanely talented, yet he is smart, he has passion and he has good fundementals. Yao has heart, great big man touch, and great skills he keeps working to improve. Just as important they both have hero quality character. They are the kind of people that you can respect and deserve respect the way they handle themselves. They are definately quiet leaders.

    3. The chemistry- It has come together fast. I really was hoping to see it by the playoffs but here we are playing smart unselfish ball, each player playing to each others strengths and helping each other out. This is truly a team. If we don't do anything else I am proud of this team just because they do things the right way.

    4. The coach- JVG never wavered. He demands effort, smarts and execution. He knows. He knows what it takes. He makes very good game decisions and he would not let the Houston Rockets settle for being losers. He griped and grumbled and held his ground until he got players who would listen and fight like junk yard dogs on the court.

    5. The moves- whether it was all CD or a combo effort or just circumstances, I love Wesley, Deke, Barry and James. You just can't hardly pull the trade trigger in the NBA and turn a club around so fast.

    6. Sura, Wesley, Deke, Barry, James, Padgett- Again I can't say enough about a surrounding cast that plays together, each of them stay within their role. They step up and pick us up and they have the kind of grit that will make us tough in April- June. Sura is tough as nails a real leader. Wesley killing himself every night on defense. Deke is playing with all his heart to give us quality post play, Barry has a swagger and smarts that lifts us up, James is quick and has given us one more dagger, Padgett will do something special for us at some point be patient.

    7. Style- I love the running scrambling help defense that we play. We have that harrassing mentality that drives teams crazy. I love the transition offense. We have players that know how to run and also make plays in transition. I love the extra pass and the confidence each player has in the others. We are trusting each other and nobody wants to let anyone down. Assists are up, turnovers down.

    8. Heart- I think this team knows it does not have a physical rebounding presence. They realize they are not young and athletic. But instead of making excuses they push themselves to play harder, hustle and chase rebounds and defend their basket. We are not going to out muscle or out speed anyone, but we are not going to let anyone out effort us for 48 minutes.

    9. Owner- I love Les because he will do his part to bring a championship to Houston. This is one owner that wants rings. Period.

    10. Special- sometimes you don't realize it until a team wins it all that they are special. That's how it was 93-95. This team has that special something. Maybe it's TMac doing the impossible against SA or Padgett stepping up in two crucial games. Maybe it is Sura standing toe to toe with Francis as we sweep the Magic, maybe it is TMac playing through grief. Sura playing through pain. Yao coming through late in games. Or Van Grumpy pushing his guys to believe.

Or maybe its all of the above and alot more...

I want to win it all.

    yeah 10 is alot.

    1. I love watching the ball swing from side to side then inside then back to the weakside.
    2. I love the comraderie on this team and that everyone is truly happy for teams success.
    3. I enjoy the fact that no one gives up on Yao even if he starts off slow.
    4. Making defense fun to watch "wow! did you see how quickly DWes rotated on the perimeter"
    5. Watching Yao grow and develop into what he could be and his teammates helping him.
    6. Knowing Tmac is unstoppable but still willing to share the ball.
    7. Seeing Van Gundy smile sometimes its kind of funny we never saw that last year.
    8. Hearing Deke Talk! "I wanna cookie"
    9. WBPS - playing with heart, hustle, and attitude, showing no fear.
    10. Winning

    My top ten:

    1. The Ball Movement movement (I meant to say it twice)
    2. T-Mac's quiet grace and greatness.
    3. Yao's slight improvement in stats
    4. Yao's slight improvement in confidence.
    5. Scott Padgett's late and unexpected heroics.
    6. David Wesley's yeoman defensive work and his professionalism.
    7. Sura's intensity and competitiveness.
    8. I may get attacked by the SF lovers, but watching his dribbling OCD in an Orlando jersey makes me happy.
    9. Obtaining Mike James was pretty exciting.
    10. We are winning, but not just winning, but winning the right way.

    1. Smart players - no stupid turnovers and few forced situations
    2. Team Composure - we don't crack under pressure, and are able to get ourselves back into games
    3. Sura stealing rebounds - I love it when he gets in there and finds the ball when it's none of his business
    4. No Crazy Egos - the players are here to win, not to become superstars
    5. Defense - I'm a fan of defense and appreciate the effort we put into it
    6. Class - I feel with our revamped roster, the players bring class back to the organization, which we lacked for the last few years
    7. Chemistry - seems a lot of our players enjoy being around each other. There's a difference between just showing up to work and getting your job done and going to your job when you can't wait to hang out with your coworkers.
    8. Making the right adjustments - although sometimes a little slow, JVG and CD have been making the right adjustments to problem areas
    9. Potential - Although we've shown we can play with the best, I don't think this team is close to its potential. We've only seen the tip of the iceburg...which is scary!!!
    10. The Rockets Organization seems to all be on the same page - no contract disputes, b****ing about minutes, GM threatening to fire the coach when things go bad, superstars putting themselves ahead of the team, etc.

I didn't say we'd definitely get there, but apart from San Antonio and *maybe* Dallas, I don't see anyone who can beat us in a series of 5 or 7 games.
