    Through 42 games, this year:

    Russell Westbrook

    26.0 ppg -- 8.0 ast (vs. 3.8 TOV) -- 6.4 rebs-- 83.7 FT% -- 43.7 FG% -- 29.2 PER.

You've got underachieving, unworthy MVP candidate. Hmm.

Comments like this make you question if people even follow the NBA to even comment.

To me, WB has been the best "individual" player this season. He's not the MVP as the MVP doesn't always mean best player (and his team's record isn't great).

WB is definitely an MVP candidate. If he can keep OKC afloat without Durant and keep putting out outrageous numbers, I would put him ahead of Curry.

If Curry wasn't getting so much hype, he won't be a top 3 candidate by the end of the season.

By the end of the season, I have MVP rankings as such.
    1) Harden
    2) Westbrook
    3) Lebron
    4) Curry
    5) Gasol

I think Curry is dropping in the MVP race. Especially with him being out and Thompson putting up good numbers. I am hearing Harden mentioned first now more often from the media.

best player in the league is a lot more efficient than his shooting usually is

this is the only month that he has shot over 30 percent from three

and he hasn't been the best individual player this season(whatever that means)

    James Harden all the way

Can't shoot. And his team is an 8th seed, granted he and Durant were hurt. He may be the best player in the league, but Harden is far and away the most valuable, homerism aside.

Westbrook can't win if Harden can't win. Both guys are without their star sidekick but only one has his team as the third seed in the west.

I don't believe, regardless of the reason, that a player should be considered for MVP if his team isn't even a lock for the playoffs. It's just one of those unspoken rules.

    1. Harden
    2. Curry (and falling)
    3. Westbrook
    4. LeBron (he won't get it unless he goes on a voracious tear, because he's always in the MVP race).

Harden is a legit MVP candidate. He could had pad his stats further more but the good part , he was't
Curry too is still a favorate candidate Thomspon jacking 25+ shots , no ass/rebound reveal how overrated this so called 2 way player
Westbrook can't be the MVP when he is not the best PG today in NBA.

LBJ best GM player award, but it's unfair to credit him with an award when he showed up after 1/2 the season, and had to replace half of his team's roster

At this point I feel like LBJ is over regular season MVP's anyway. This year he really seemed to be concerned with career longevity than anything else which in my opinion is fine.

While he may be, but he's not playing at the same level he has been.

WB, AD, Harden, and Curry have been the best 4 players in the NBA this season by far, in that order.

The Thunder only have to finish with a better record than the Blazers, and they will be the 4th seed by winning the Northwest division.

    That is a bold statement.

The whole nba is about to change after this season.

    Kobe
    Dirk
    Duncan
    Garnett
    Ginobli
    Nash
    Ray Allen
    Paul pierce
    Vince carter
    Grant hill
    Tmac

Those guys are all about done. The last guy to play in the 90's is fast approaching. Pierce may play 2 more seasons and dirk one more after that goodbye memories.
