Dmo's play is obviously begging for consistent starter minutes. Canaan's play replacing Bev is also deserving of increased minutes. With Black and Dorsey, let's be honest. They had a solid game tonight against the Griz, but I doubt that that type of production will have any consistency. They still only deserve spot up minutes when Jones or Dmo are struggling. Here is my honest attempt at what the rotation should be: Howard 36 / Dmo 12 Tjones 30 / Dmo 18 Ariza 32 / Pap 16 Harden 38 / Canaan 10 Bev 30 / Canaan 18 Honestly I don't know what to do with Terry. I feel bad for leaving him out as he is shooting well. He deserves spot up minutes whenever Canaan or Bev are struggling to initiate the offense.
I would probably carve out some minutes for Jason Terry. Would rather Harden played around 35 and Bev played around 25.
I could care less if Dmo starts or not but he deserves at least 30 min and more than Tjones for that matter.
it will depend on who we play against. But Terry should play a lot of Canaan's minutes that you allocated to him.
Terry has been playing well, but keep in mind he's older so him not playing some nights or lower minutes is probably best for the long term goal.
It's not just DMo's stats, but his ball and body movement, and interior D, and perimeter D. He should have had like 6 assists tonight but guys bricked shots off his nice set-ups. Also he's starting to block shots. Also he gets everybody else's energy up by his energy. If DMo gets relegated to 18 min/game you can darn well expect him to demand a trade. Teams will trade for this guy. Also...he improves noticeably every game, as his confidence increases. He has nice repoire right now with Harden. Harden seems to actually LOOK for DMo.
Dmo is deserving of demanding 30 mpg. His confidence would diminish if he is regulated to low twenties or high teens after his terrific stretch. I agree. Keep his confidence high and rhythm in sync. Give him at a minimum 28 mpg.
i'd like to see H&H kept to about 32mpg, and we will have to find time for terry. also, i dont see us going with only an 8 man rotation for the rest of the season. maybe the playoffs but for the season i think 9-10 players per game is usual: howard (32) - back (8) jones (28) - dmo (24) ariza (32) - papa (24) harden (34) - canaan (6) beverley (33) - terry (18)
My rotation if I were Mcfail Howard (32) / DMo (8) / Black or Dorsey (8) DMo (20) / Jones (25) / KPap (3) Ariza (33) / KPap (15) Harden (33) / Terry (15) Bev (32) / cannon (16)
I think its completely fair because Tjones hasn't played at the level that Dmo is right now and is only getting better. Dmo is our best post player and better defender than Tjones.
Absolutely no reason to go to an 8 man rotation this early in the season. We can find 10-15 MPG for Black and Terry.
A very reasonable take. I agree. Except for the SG. Canaan is not tall enough or defensively adept enough for the SG position.
not sure what the rotation should be after the bench stepping up. black, dmo, papa, canaan and terry should get minutes the way they've been playing. spurs run a lotta rotations so it shouldnt be that bad to run a 10 man rotation. if it works against the best teams then keep it going
