The rockets lack one thing to compete with the warriors

This is dumb. Harden often goes cold, we have no one else who can create and knock down clutch shots. Lou Williams single handedly won us two games in the playoffs last year, you have a short memory. We need another scorer period. Is there a single player on this roster outside of EGO and Harden that can drive in from the 3 point line and even get a layup in a scoring drought? EGO has been better finishing at the rim in clutch moments than anyone on the team. CP is injured, and I wouldn't bank on him to do anything wearing a suit.

 

@what might might be on to something.. MKG ranked 99 out of 300+ NBA players. Eric Gordon didn't rank... LMAO!

 

Let me put it this way.....

Would you rather have a guy who will have no net impact on defense and score 20 per game (Gordon,)
Or a guy who will reduce KD's points by 4 and score 4 points per game? (MKG net -12 compared to Gordon).

And I think this is being very conservative with Gordon's value. There's no quantitative case to be made.

If that's not enough, let's look at it this way.
What can MKG do that some combination of Ariza/Moute/Tucker can't do?

if that's not enough, please go read on Daryl Morey or Mike D'Antoni's basketball philosophies, and the myriad ways that MKG doesn't fit (and possibly doesn't fit the modern NBA at all.)

If THAT's not enough, consider how the Warriors will just double Harden and dare MKG to shoot anytime he is on the floor, backfiring that strategy in your face.

I think you're on point with the impact to KD's numbers. You MAYBE trade for an elite defensive stopper if you are solving for a team with Lebron and having issues stopping him or a the Bulls and having issues stopping Jordan, but the way the Warriors are built having one defensive stopper that is a huge liability otherwise just doesn't work, there are other options. Look at how Roberson is working out for OKC.
