It's not an argument; it's an education. Unfortunately, you're willfully ignorant. Feel free to take some time to figure out for yourself what plus-minus is, then come back and we can have a discussion.
You're wilfully ignorant if you think just posting freaking real plus minus (which isn't some sort of end all stat) means Harden is having a good year and it's all the other players fault. You're also wrong about how previous years are used in the formula I'm sorry that this thread isnt going how you wanted, but thats life
It's actually frightening that that's all you got from a post that barely had anything to do with Harden. Definitely shows how small and unintelligent the discussion on GARM is at the moment. Go make another "Khloe killed my dog" thread. This isn't the thread for you.
You used rpm to make broad generalizations about the problems with this year's team and who should be playing. Wow, why don't you email Daryl Morey a link to ESPN.com? If JB uses that one stat to allocate minutes, everything will be fixed! SMH.
the RPM used by ESPN doesn't use past season data, it's one of the things they had him change for their version, they prefer less certainty but a more relevant data set for their purposes. The stat was designed for measuring fit, which was the purpose behind using past season data, and why it tends to overrate declining players, underrate improving players and changing teams will almost always see a hit.
Do you have a link to somewhere that says it doesn't use past season data? Everything I've read is that it does. That is kind of the point: to make it more accurate. Just using a single season is too noisy. But I agree with your conclusion, it is overrating a declining Harden.
Literally only the dumbest fans don't realize that it is particularly terrible role players inexplicably playing large minutes dragging the team down much further than it should be. But I'm sure the interim coach knows best. Good argument. SMH.
JB Bickerstaff is smarter than you. Sorry to break the news At least you gave up your incorrect argument about RPM
