No, he had 49pts 25rebs in game 7 against Seattle. Seattle won. If only Kenny Smith hit the game winning shot from the corner.
Steve wouldn't even try to score until the 4th quarter most of the time... This thread isn't so bad Tinman, congrats and praise science!
What's nice is that in Adelman's system you can get the ball if you're hot. Scoring 50 is very hard to do, obviously, but I wouldn't be surprised if either Martin or AB managed it over the next few seasons. Scola is capable of it, although I'd fall over in a dead faint if he did.
I dont think anyone will break the 50 point barrier next season. There's too many options on our team and the scoring will be evenly spread.
You are referring to 2 different games here. Olajuwon's 49/25 game was in 87 (game 6) and Kenny missed his shot in 93 (game 7).

Both in the same season. He went to the line 22 times in his 51 pt game It was the best and worst for Maxwell for his efficiency. He "Ariza'd" himself into a low percentage chucker and kept getting worse with this FG% year after year Its noticeable how Hakeem got all his high scoring games LATER in his career. He just kept getting better and better. Look at Olajuwon's box score for the 1996-03-23 game- 46 pts, 18 rbs 8 asts, 3 steals, 3 blocks at age 33. Compare that to Yao or McGrady, you have any faith they'll be putting up 40 point games at age 33?
The year Ariza joins the 50 pt club is the year Houston gets a top 3 lottery pick. Watching the Rockets would probably be painful that season. But yes, I'd probably laugh if Ariza gets 50. Then I'd cry myself to sleep.
Excellent thread, tinny. Brooks will hit the 50pt club next year. Quick guards that can drain the 3 are a beast to cover.
Tinman, You ruined this thread the minute you put Curtis Jackson's snitchin' mug in the first post! (<-----looks like his damn teeth) Anyway, we will never have another Dream or Calvin...those guys were special.
Martin... if aggressive has the talent to score 50 on any given night. Ariza... if talented has the aggressiveness to score 50 on any given night.
