Am I the only one who thinks Davis Bertans would be a better fit?

He isn’t a total disaster on defense like Ryno, and he isn’t shy to shoot.

For the bench sure, as a starter not so sure. This team needs great defense in three spots until Harden and Westbrook are here, a guy like Bertans starting isn't good enough to cover them.

I’m not sure a great defensive wing is an option since everyone else is looking for one and everybody else has better assets.

Let’s double down on offense and let it fly.

I get that Clint and PJ are important for our D but..... Our D is God awful anyways so I wouldn't be opposed to a change. Not saying they are the issues because obviously they are not

I don't know about a better fit because of what Covington can bring defensively, but i do think that he would be a great fit here. I've been watching Bertans a lot lately, He has turned into a complete assassin from deep. He would do wonders for our offense making teams pay for doubling Harden, or Collapsing on Russ. The guy is still shooting close to 47% from 3 on over 8.5 attempts. I want a 3 and D guy, but i wouldn't be upset if we got a guy like this.

No, he would be amazing here, this is EXACTLY the type of player we should have been chasing.

Again for those that are incapable of nuance - I said I would like Covington - but he is NOT someone that will move the needle all that much and IMHO we really need a BIG that can stretch the floor more than another wing.

Would take Convington, like him - just think he would be in a crowded field here....

Offense is not the problem - making stops is critical for this team, especially at end of games.

All the Rockets can do is hope House and Ben get better at communicating on D. Let’s finally get a deadeye shooter

Yeah, they are not, it's not because of those two that our defense sucks, i think we all know that, and Covington, for as good as he is, he's not going to single handedly make this team a top defense if to get him we trade those guys, we would've to get at least another solid center to talk about a potential (because i wouldn't bet on that anyway) upgrade.

Clueless. Bertrans is a specialist, no way his addition is more impactful than Covington.

Like Tucker, Covington plays 3/4 and even 5 in small ball lineups.

Your obsession with one dimensional no defense no athleticism white players is really concerning.

Ehh...Adding someone like Covington and Noel could make a huge difference. The defensive drop off from Capela to Noel over 20-25 minutes a night isn't massive, but the addition of Covington and his ability to play and defend all over the court is.

If the Rockets can role out a line up of: Noel/Tucker/Covington/Westbrook/Harden......... that is an elite defensive line up.

There are many possibilities with Covington.......... you can run out: Covington/Tucker/House/Westbrook and Rivers..... many variations.

Covington would get most his minutes at the 4-5..... it wouldn't be "a crowded field"...... What it would do is improve the Rockets depth and allow for endless line ups. This is all assuming the Rockets can add in a separate trade, someone like Noel.

+ Houston Pick to Cleveland, maybe House

    Harden / Rivers / Clemons
    Tucker / Gordon
    Covington / House
    Love / Clark
    Capela / Chandler

Much much better team than we have now.

If you can add both sure, but if you add one and lose Capela/Tucker eh...and don't get me wrong, i like Covington, i wasn't happy when we let him go years ago in the first place, and i also like Noel fwiw, but personally i still wouldn't expect this team to have elite defense as long as Westbrook and Harden are out there. And by moving Capela we would still lose size, Noel is smaller and lighter than Capela, i don't really know how well he would do against heavy guys loike Jokic, Gobert...maybe we would have no problem, i don't really know, but just something it's probably worth to consider.

You know why this ain't happening, but on paper would be a good trade imo, would also leave us with more flexibility going forward.

Like Noel too but prefer Robert Williams to replace Capela.

3 team trade with BOS makes too much sense.
