It's astounding to me how much money Lawson left on the table by having a single bad year. 12 months ago, he was a near all-star level PG, who despite his alcohol issues, was still considered among the better PGs in the game. Another solid year or two with the Rockets and he could have gotten a max contract this summer (if the Rox declined their team option) or next (if they kept him).

Instead? Crickets.

High upside young guys like crabbe and Tyler Johnson are exactly who we should be shooting for at this point.

 

I'd like a mix of young guys and veterans. If the Rockets don't win more games next season, they're certainly going to strike out in free agency again a year from now. They need guys who can help them win immediately in addition to long-term.

seth curry, wayne ellington, tarik black, courtney lee could be some good pickups on the cheap that fit MDA's system. Some good shooters and Tarik seemed to play well with Harden.
