MArio Chalmers is another FA. He's apparently well ahead of his achilles recovery schedule and apparently could be ready at some stage during training camps. Certainly not a starter, but a handy backup (assuming he stays healthy).
are they seriously gonna make harden do most of the work on offense again this season? nene cant be the 2nd best passer on this team next season
May have to start accepting the possibility that Gordon will be starting at PG. Gordon-Bev Harden-Brewer Ariza-Beasley Anderson-Dmo Capela-Nene
And why not? I think the last 4 teams standing this year showed you don't need a "traditional pg" to win big. Westbrook, Erving, Steph and Lowry are all pseudo two-guards. I think Gordon starting next to Harden would work REALLY well IMO (especially how great a playmaker James is). Bring Bev in midway through the 1st for Gordon and then come back in with Gordon to sub in for James later on. I think you have a real good three man rotation in the backcourt.
all we need is a normal backup quality pg, nothing special. depending on injury prone sg gordon isnt it. u got harden doing everything on offense 2 straight seasons, why do it again and make him avg 30ppg? who's gonna pass the ball if he gets hurt ? should we move nene to pg? i wouldnt depend on mda's system enough so we only need one good passing perimiter player. two is enough, even if the 2nd is a 3rd string.
It would be a disaster to rely on Beverley and Gordon has your point guards. Beverley has become injury prone and hasn't been able to complete a full season the past couple of years. Relying on two injury prone guards is not going to cut it. Rockets need another point guard badly.

Damn I wonder what's wrong with Sullinger? He's a good rebounder. His stock has really fallen since Ohio State.
Because players are out of position on defense. Gordon isn't quick enough to guard PG's, Beasley isn't quick enough to guard SF's. Hell even though they aren't out of position, Dmo and Anderson aren't quick enough to guard PF's either, nor is Brewer quick enough to guard SG for extended periods of time, dude gets blown by like crazy. Not only will a lot of players not be quick enough on defense, but a lot of players will have a harder time beating players off the dribble on offense as well. Even if Harden is our PG, whoever plays PG has to be athletic enough to face other PG's. "Position-less" basketball can only be played if you have supreme athletes, and we don't have that. D'Antoni's offense is all about playing fast and stretching the floor, aka going small. Going big won't just work well, unless again you have super athletes who can guard much smaller players. IMO Harden should move to the full time backup SF, Gordon can play all of his minutes at SG. IMO it shouldn't be a Bev/Gordon/Harden 3 man rotation at the PG/SG but rather a Gordon/Harden/Ariza 3 man rotation at the SG/SF. We need another SG, and I think it would be best to move or let go of Dmo or Beasley.
