The map we know is useful for crossing the ocean, but otherwise very inaccurate... according to Peter

This has been posted before, a couple of times. But it always still amazes me. Africa is so big. Kenya, the country I am moving to is nearly the size of Texas. Crazy.

What takes you to Kenya? I just got back from there. Spent 10 days visiting some friends.

a map can either show correct shape or correct size, but not both.

If representing a round earth on a flat piece of paper is so hard, why not use a globe?

West Wing did an episode where Leo had the staffers all listen to kooky visitors one day a year, C.J. had some cartographers talking about the real sizes of countries; pretty funny how sincerely shocked she was.

Let's be honest here. There has never been any concrete proof that the world is round. Most of this speculation is just hearsay.
