He has a huge wingspan, good defensive instincts and overall size and strength for the position, and good shotblocking skills. He's a decent rebounder. He has almost no offensive skills.

Except Cole has terrible defensive instincts, isn't all that strong for his size and hasn't shown any rebounding acumen. He's a poor man's Asik only in the sense he's a big guy that plays C and does everything worse than Asik. With that reasoning, you could say Thabust is a poor man's Andrew Bynum.

He tries too hard and the NBA game still hasn't slowed down for him. To say his Orlando summer league was awful is being kind.

Aldrich gets PT because we need him at the back-up 5. D-Mo is too soft and needs to develop more. Throwing D-Mo in too soon is like when the Texans Drafted and started David Carr right away. Great potential ruined by having to play when not quite ready for the spotlight. If D-Mo gets some size on him then he could play at the 5, until then, we need someone with size to give Asik a breather from time to time.

People said they liked his game when we started the pre-season against them but all I saw was him being the the black Hasheem Thabeet: a slow feet, clumsy player.

No one is safe when they play for the Rockets. Morey will trade someone in a heartbeat if he thinks it will get him more assets. Makes it impossible to want to buy a Rockets jersey cause that player might be gone tomorrow.

It took assets to get the trade done.
I'm an asset at my job and so are you if you wasn't you would be gone, it's not a big deal.

I don't know why people keep saying Daequan Cook it a great 3 point shooter, he isn't plain and simple.

    Your joking right?
You don't want to trade for better players to have a better team?
You would rather have a team that sucked so you could keep the same jersey for years on end?

The question to ask is: Is Cole Aldrich really better than Greg Smith?

Cole Aldrich is good but everybody on this team smokes him in terms of, if not productiveness, upside. Asik, Motiejunas, Jones, White, even Patterson and Morris beat him.

I've never seend Aldrich play, but I'll say this. If you're a center and don't totally suck, then you should be seeing rotation minutes in the NBA, regardless of the team. And if your team decides to trade for Kendrik Perkins 6 months after drafting you with the 11th pick, and then trade you as salary filler to another team 2 years later, you probably aren't very good.

Overall, don't expect any of the new guys to be anything but salary fillers in the next trade, but you never know. At least it's basically open competition after Lin/Harden/Parsons/Asik.

He can be taught offensive skills ......like Asik has been, since joining the rockets Asik looks a little more athletic and is becoming comfortable atleasts attempting an offensive move.Aldrich can be taught along the same lines...C.D. i will admit can work a big into some form of offensive relevance.
