i havent been watching any of his games but checked out his box scores. what the heck happened to rubio, his numbers are in the pooper.
He is not scoring much, which is expected, but his assists and steals numbers are still alright. Its just teams have started to figure him out, so he is slightly less effective nowadays.
At least you guys now see why we European guys were bashing his offense. Once you figure him out it's very tough for him to get buckets. He will always get layups with his fakes or due to spacing, but his jumpshot is poor.
I expected Rubio to hit a wall at some point in the season, though 2 assists is a big surprise considering the opponent. His shooting has been sorry the last couple of weeks and he'll need to snap out of it soon. We'll find out what Rubio is made of the rest of the season now that everyone has seen what he likes to do. The real test will be how hard he works over the summer and improves next season.
rubio is really beyond his stats, he chooses his moments. So some games he will penetrate, but he is a guy who reads the defense and acts accordingly and is able to impact the game in many ways. That said, tonight he couldn't get in the lane and itll happen as a rookie, but more so Nash just looks like he wasn't ready for rubio to have the tortch right now and bought it to him.
They need wing help. Beasley is out the door, Johnson is crap and Williams is still learning. They dont have a legit wing player besides Webster. Beasley+Johnson+Randolph for Ben Gordon and Prince. Ben Gordon will be revitalised in a structured system that has a future.
But, but, but the Wolves have a much better future than the Rockets, and will contend with OKC for the WCF next year.
top 5 in assists in the nba is not badwait check that.. He fell to 6th behind deron williams but it's percentage points. overall has been beasting in the assist department. He will only get better in general ..as well as assists.. His court vision is off the charts. did you catch him against the lakers the other day: <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/Ntz89CQT4hg" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Part of me thinks that the only reason Rubio has such a developed court vision is because he can't shoot lol. He's been playing pro since he was 15? I see 2-3 year span where he can definitely improve but not much more than that.
I agree. He is okay with layups but his jumper is really spotty. Unless he completely overhauls his shooting form, I don't think his % will increase much, especially since he already has a pretty good shot selection from the games I have watched. His ability as a floor general is outstanding, a player can't have everything i guess.
You had 1 post in 3 1/2 years, then in less than 10 minutes you triple your post count on the topics of Jeremy Lin and Steve Novak... People need to rep this man! Edit-I take that back. All 3 posts were today. Still need to be repped.
yeah, he he didn't play that good and he couldn't exploit the Fisher match up, just like in their first meeting of the season.
