That’s a high price, too high really, but this team is in desperate need. I think Clowney, a first, and a third should get you Tunsil and another piece. My guess though is that we’re going to get fleeced.
Those multiple phone insiders won't get any sleep tonight. They all trying to break this story before the other. Me on the other hand ... I don't lose sleep over this team anymore. Texans gonna Texan and good night. Could be a glorious friday morning and could also be a WTF just happened friday morning. We shall see.
Everything's conflicting. P. Storm says if text is true he takes back all he said about BOB, which would seem to insinuate good terms on trade, such as Tunsil/Clown-man straight up or us getting a lower pick as well. Other sources say Clowney AND a 1st isn't enough which is ludicrous. That's too much by itself. The deciding factor (and what REALLY worries me) is that Billy O just stated yesterday that you "might have to pay more to get what you want" in this situation. And going by his judgement that trading a 3rd round draft pick for a backup 3rd-down running back (although a nice one) is a GOOD deal, well I shudder to think what "biting the bullet" means to him.
I'm almost to that point myself but I would still rather take the top 20 gm in waiting candidates, pin their names to a dart board and let Cal take a throw blindfolded "pinata" style. Almost guarantee better results than either Smith or BOB.
LOL Texans Give 'em a 2020 2nd too and a 2021 1st and 2021 2nd while you're at it Billy boy. 2020 1st (to Miami) 2020 2nd (to Miami) 2020 3rd (to Cleveland) 2021 1st (to Miami) 2021 2nd (to Miami) Jadeveon Clowney (to Miami) You know you want to do it Billy! The Miami Herald reports the Texans have offered both unsigned franchise player Jadeveon Clowney and a first-round pick for Dolphins LT Laremy Tunsil. Per reporter Barry Jackson, the Dolphins have rebuffed that offer and are seeking the inclusion of "another high draft pick." Jackson reports the Texans have been "relentless" in their pursuit of the blindside protector. Even though they're tanking, the Dolphins hold massive leverage with Tunsil, a 25-year-old left tackle under team control for two more seasons. The Dolphins are stockpiling picks and Bill O'Brien loves to trade them. This might actually happen.
