Big Mac doesn't really sound like a nickname for both Yao and Mcgrady. It sounds like a nickname for just Mcgrady. If Yao had a Mac in his name, then maybe we could use that for the two of them.

Building off of the 111 idea, I like 'Trips', 'Trip Aces', or just 'Aces'. Any way you look at it, we've got a good hand ;)

Somebody ought to be able to photoshop a cool pic of T-Mac on an Ace and Yao on a hand of two Aces. That would be cool, instant desktop material for me.

I don't think they would care. They had the free big-mac promo for every Rockets home win with more than 100 pts last season.

Maybe Les doesn't care anymore. I remember Jeff making comments a year or two ago that he was still an activist, despite his divorce, but that may be old news. Didn't they not use thundersticks for years for the same reason? (plastic kills animals or something?)

That's good to know. I don't live in Houston anymore so I haven't been to a live game since Barkley's last game.

    (pretty sad isn't it)

Those names, other than "the Big Mac", sound Terrible.

It's way too early to start a poll. People need more time to think about it and that actually is the fun part.

    vote for the 1's! :)

M&M is in first now but I think that nickname sucks for 3 reasons:
    1. its the name of a candy
    2. Yao doesn't go by Ming
    3. the rapper

so in conclusion: vote for the 1's

aces are also referred to as bullets - but I don't like that.

These may be too esoteric, but . . .
    How about:

"Flying Dragons" or similar - I don't know if this is a "real" karate style, but maybe someone knows a real one that could apply.

    "Tmac and the YaoStalk"

"The sword and the shield" - ?

"TY Jelly" - that way the pick-n-roll with those two (which should be strong) could be called the "jelly roll" - gotta admit that there are all kind of fun puns that could come off of this one.

there has to be a catchy twist on the elements - like "rain and lightning"
maybe "the shooting star and the eclipse"

"Fire and Ice" - Tmac could be fire since he will be firing up shots and Yao could be Ice because he shuts down the middle.

It seems like people don't like looking through the list very much, since the top choice is also the top vote reciever, and then the votes go down proportionally.

    1-11, or 1 to 11.

    Meaning, from #1 to #11.

psss. I was just making a point of reading 111 as one eleven. Houston's One-eleven combo, or MacYao combo would sound good on a sports cast, as in Laker's OK combo.

BTW, it's never wise to call anything dumb during a brainstorm. :p

I won't vote unless "Chicken and Rice" is on the board.
