I was hoping to have 41 wins by the time we play ATL. The media will be all over that on Dwight. It is very unlikely but who knows.
Not really. We will just have had a bad stretch after - objectively - one of the most f'ed up stretches of scheduling I've ever seen. Can happen to any team, even an eventual champion. Great teams lose focus, lose rhythm, get tired, have scheduling losses. It makes total sense that this roster - which is lacking in talent and heavily relying on effort and a high variance system - would go through a stretch like that. It wouldn't worry me. We would be 39 and 19 at the end of it and I would have no problem with us being 39-19 after playing one of the strongest 58 game starts in the league.
Rockets have played 47 games (tied for the most), including 25 on the road (2nd to Portland). After these next 4 road games, the schedule is a steep downhill slope. 3-1 is realistic. Bucks & Pacers are both in a tailspin, the Celtics are playing like yo yos (except for Isiah Thomas). The Sixers could present the stiffest challenge.
Wow. So after this 5 game road trip, which concludes Jan 29th we only have 12 road games left all season? I guess 34-13 isn't all that bad given our crazy schedule thus far.
The schedule this year has been brutal.. you can tell our players look tired. can't wait till our guys get some rest during the asg.
Just reminding you guys, this slump was predictable, and it's fine. We'll still win almost 60, which is excellent and higher than this team's estimated ceiling.
