I was reading all the talk about manu and harden. It got me thinking, bruce bowen and chandler parsons? A young Tony Parker and Jeremy Lin? Asik and the stiffs that played beside Duncan? Which brings me to the obvious.....we are probably still a Duncan away from a dynasty.... make no mistake: I love the Harden deal. I think he may be even better offensively than the general consensus already is, and that is pretty high.
and two in a row at that! there are some similarities. that said, all those guys still need a lot of work to live up to those comparisons. Except Asik. Asik's already better than any big they had next to Duncan since Robinson, imo. But yeah, find a Duncan now.
a comparing him to a young parker.....before parker was parker.....I can remember him in the stage as "that french guy" with potential.
McHale kind of has Pop's personality. If we can compare Parsons to Bowen and Lin to Parker, we can certainly say that McHale's on his way to becoming Pop.
I def see Lin's game in Parker. People have to remember Parker was pretty bad in his first couple years. If Lin can stay healthy, he has the work ethic and smarts to be able to contribute like Parker did.
I was living in SA the year they drafted Duncan. Robinson was coming off an injury and every phone call on the sports talk shows started with "Trade Dave, fire Pop". I mean that literally. OK, about 90% said trade Dave, but LITERALLY every caller said to fire Pop. No SA fan seems to remember that now, but I still laugh at them for it.
Lin's gonna have to start making some layups if you're going to start comparing him to Parker, who is arguably one of the best layup making guards there is.
