So I was checking out the lineup of this year's beale street music festival in Memphis, Tn, which is like 75 bucks for a 3 day pass and the lineup to me rivaled anything you could get at coachella which will cost you 4 bills.

What's your top 5 pretentious music festivals?

Ed Sheeran and Lenny Kravitz immediately invalidate the notion of pretension.

we are talking about price and name value. you won't see a better act than bela fleck and abigail washburn, anywhere.

Not to mention you get the best LOCAL and National blues acts all in 1 weekend for less than 100 bucks. It will cost you a grand at coachella.

I would rank Coachella up there. It seems like half the girls show up there now to become IG famous with no idea about the music. Celebs are paid big bucks to attend that event, which is bizarre in itself. I've never been to Ultra in Miami but from what people have told me it seems like a place where a lot of college dude bros hangout. But that's probably at every EDM festival.

I don't think the OP is calling beale street festival pretentious.

    it's the complete opposite.

he is saying coachella is pretentious and that beale street has all that a pretentious fest would offer for a fraction of the cost.
