Having free-reign as sixth man in Erik Spoelstra's system, Johnson posted a career year with averages of 12.8 ppg 47.9 fg% 34.0 3p% 4.9 rpg 3.6 apg 1.0 spg 1.1 bpg in 27.4 minutes per game. He is currently on the tail-end of a 1 year/$4,000,000 deal with the Miami Heat. That being said,I believe he could be had this summer for around a 11-13mil/year type of deal. Ultimately, he would be a great addition to our bench as a defensive stopper and the perfect contrast to what Eric Gordon and Lou already provide when our starters rest. Instead of reaching for a superstar this summer, let's sign Johnson and possibly get another superb role-player or back-up center.
I like him ; he's super athletic That being said , he's no backup center . He's a perfect backup wing We won't go for him through ; because Mike is the ruler and Mike don't want anyone that can't shoot . Frankly Dekker and Harrell could be starting next year if they develop properly ... They have more athleticism and defensive prowess at the 3/4 than both our starters right now.... Unfortunately neither can shoot . What this team really needs is for Dekker and Harrell to learn how to shoot.
Sitting take him in a cheap multi-year deal or a relatively expensive one year desk. But no on multiple years at double digit millions. He has poor character and could easily pull a Lance. Too risky.
James Johnson is a big 3. Would fit well here as a smallball 4 (although to call him small at 6'9 250lbs is odd!) He can shoot well enough. But honestly, I hope this thread is lolworthy because we're hoisting the championship high in a few weeks.
