Comparing him to LeBron ain't right... dude couldn't shoot yet finished at 21/6/6 for the year because he could finish at the rim. Lonzo is going 9/7/7 on 31% shooting. He's got massive problems. I like the kid's defense but nothing else. He's a good passer in the sense that it's fancy, but it's not as effective as touted. He's clearly an NBA player but he's no star. The being a star thing is an act he learned from his obnoxious father.
Comparing him to a guy that might be the most physically gifted athlete in NBA history is nonsense. (IMO, comparing him to Jason Kidd is also crazy for different reasons). If you remove the G-League game against the Suns, Lonzo's averages are 6/6/6 on 26%/20% shooting. It's early, but the Lakers should be a little worried.
Ouch... worst insult I've heard today... but they (the Ball family) earned it. So easy to dislike them.
Why don't we just compare him to the likely ROY PG, Ben Simmons...the other sublime "Facilitator" who came in with worries of his ability to shoot? Are we just going to ignore that Simmons is playing PG? In fact, why isn't there a Ben Simmons Thread?
The Lakers drafted a game manager with the 2nd pick, not a game changer. People were knocking on him for being so passive against Portland, but that's probably the best thing he could do for their offense. Pass it off and get the hell out of the way. It's not like he could be a deadly scorer with his 36 TS%. Teams should give him all the shots he wants.
Little Ball will probably turn the corner later on, but it's clear that the Kushma is cementing his place as the future of the franchise this early on.
I'm sure the Chinese people will sympathize, privileged American athlete going to China to play basketball and steal expensive Italian luxury goods that he can easily afford .
