Texans have too many needs to do that and this draft is deeper than years past. I'd rather have Carr in the 2nd even if Bridgewater is there. Point being I take Mike Mayock's evaluation over Kiper's. Carr being his third ranked QB, Bridgewater tied for 5th.
wow from clear cut no.1 to 2nd round. Maybe it puts a chip on his shoulder and inspires him to be a "morer" Aaron rodgers.
I still have a very difficult time seeing Teddy drop out of the first round. I'd love a trade down scenario with Atlanta and stumble upon Mack. Then take Teddy with 2-1...and still have Atlanta's 2nd rounder. I need to get off my drugs, but that would be great.
Once he gets in the NFL and if he works as hard as Rodgers did and has a coaching staff as good as Rodgers has _ maybe he can. Green Bay did a lot of work with Rodgers while he was on the bench for those years.
I would not be surprised if the Texans passed on TB at 2.1 (if he fell). BPA might be a OT or DE or ILB, etc. The Texans do need a QB, but they may wait until the third round or lower where they can get a good-not-great QB.
I haven't followed the day-in, day-out analysis of the draft...do people think that Bridgewater is dumb? If so, why? Did he do poorly in interviews or something? Everything I had heard about the guy was that he had a very strong football mind and picked up a pretty complicated Louisville playbook in pretty short order, starting as a true freshman. I really, really hope that this view has nothing to do with the Wonderlic.
You know so much about what O'Brien wants! We are lucky to have you here. Please. Don't. Go. Anywhere.
Never mind, should have read the entire thread to see that it is, indeed, based on his Wonderlic. I would love to grab Bridgewater in the late 1st/our 2nd round pick if he's losing value because of the Wonderlic. I understand he had a poor pro day, but I have 2.5 years of game tape to justify much higher than a late 1st round pick.
I think the problem is that pretty much all of the early process propaganda about him has been proven inaccurate so far. It's hard to buy that even though he's failed every test of his skills thus far that he somehow really is god's gift to the QB position. The kid has shown poor mechanics, small hands, poor accuracy, inadequate real IQ (doesn't mean he's not a genius when it comes to playing Madden), his frame is inadequate, his arm strength is nothing special, his footwork needs work, his athleticism is underwhelming, and his personality comes off meek and aloof in interviews. Honestly, if he's a quarter of the QB prospect his rabid fanbase thinks he is then he must be trying his hardest to appear completely incompetent.
who can already read pro defensive formations. Versus a big, brawny, "smart" QB who can make all of the throws to the opponents DBs.
