I give a s**t because part of the reason why these things aren't covered in the mainstream media is that there is a bipartisan consensus to keep away from that. I thought s**ting on the president for committing those acts was enough of an indicator, but if it makes you feel any better, I equally disagree with Democrats who think this is A-OK just because Obama is in power.
Reporter Claims IRS Harassment After Tough Obama Interview *UPDATE: Conners Muzzled Posted on May 14, 2013 by danaradio St. Louis Reporter Larry Conners revealed via Facebook yesterday that he has been “hammered” by the IRS since his much-discussed interview with President Obama. Conners, a veteran reporter, asked tough, but fair question during the interview which was slammed by progressives in media. Conners says: Shortly after I did my April 2012 interview with President Obama, my wife, friends and some viewers suggested that I might need to watch out for the IRS. I don’t accept “conspiracy theories”, but I do know that almost immediately after the interview, the IRS started hammering me. At the time, I dismissed the “co-incidence”, but now, I have concerns … after revelations about the IRS targeting various groups and their members. Originally, the IRS apologized for red-flagging conservative groups and their members if they had “Tea Party” or “patriot” in their name. Today, there are allegations that the IRS focused on various groups and/or individuals questioning or criticizing government spending, taxes, debt or how the government is run … any involved in limiting/expanding government, educating on the constitution and bill of rights, or social economic reform/movement. In that April 2012 interview, I questioned President Obama on several topics: the Buffet Rule, his public remarks about the Supreme Court before the ruling on the Affordable Care Act. I also asked why he wasn’t doing more to help Sen. Claire McCaskill who at that time was expected to lose. The Obama interview caught fire and got wide-spread attention because I questioned his spending. I said some viewers expressed concern, saying they think he’s “out of touch” because of his personal and family trips in the midst of our economic crisis. The President’s face clearly showed his anger; afterwards, his staff which had been so polite … suddenly went cold. That’s to be expected, and I can deal with that just as I did with President George H. Bush’s staff when he didn’t like my questions. Journalistic integrity is of the utmost importance to me. My job is to ask the hard questions, because I believe viewers have a right to be well-informed. I cannot and will not promote anyone’s agenda – political or otherwise – at the expense of the reporting the truth. What I don’t like to even consider … is that because of the Obama interview … the IRS put a target on me. Can I prove it? At this time, no. But it is a fact that since that April 2012 interview … the IRS has been pressuring me. Conners had asked questions such as: “The economy is a big concern for folks, I mean the unemployment, trying to make ends meet, gas prices, food prices going up. Some of our viewers are complaining that they get frustrated and angered when they see the first family jetting around different vacations and so forth …” Now that the IRS has admitted to persecuting tea party groups, now that the DOJ has seized phone records of AP reporters, has the admin targeted individual journalists as well? http://danaloeschradio.com/reporter-claims-irs-harassment-after-tough-obama-interview/ https://www.facebook.com/LarryConnersKMOV/posts/10151393396885544
There is no bi-partisan consensus in the media. The media is just inept, incompetent, and lazy, so they spoon feed Americans celeb gossip crap, etc, etc.
If you don't get angry over scandals like these that are targeted at regular american citizens, you are basically inviting totalitarianism. Because without outrage, it won't stop.
this is going to be a replay of 2010 thousands of IRS agents are being hired to implement Obamacare, people are going to remember this and it's going to fire them up to vote The upcoming MA Senate election will be interesting. If Gomez pulls a Scott Brown it will be panic time for Dems.
Well; hopefully now we'll get to the bottom of it; and any other questionable practices. Would probably feel a little better if Freeh was still in charge, loved it when he let Gonzalez embarrass himself in front of Congress. If only there were still an OIC, this is the kind of stuff they would be intended to investigate. WSJ: FBI Launches Probe of IRS
And on top of this IRS Tea Party Scandal: White House Did Not Drive Investigation, Inspector General Says WASHINGTON -- The IRS Inspector General said Tuesday that incompetence, not malice, was behind the tax agency’s heavy scrutiny of conservative groups applying for tax-exempt status in the lead-up to the 2012 elections. A 48-page IG report explicitly stated that the IRS behavior was “not politically biased,” that it was due to lower-level staff who did not understand their jobs and sometimes acted insubordinately, and that it was not driven by the White House.
What about when it was happening in 2011? Oh, and just to help you out in the future; you should stay clear of using unreliable sources like Huffington Post. Just lending a helping hand.
When they have been proven to blatantly lie or distort stories like breitbart, Drudge or WorldNetDaily then I’ll consider the possibility. But thanks for the concern
Nice job dodging the question. Until you can prove that you don't blatantly lie or distort stories, I'll just keep thinking you are.
The recent behavior by the IRS has been very reprehensible. From complete disregard to Internet privacy to targeting based on political stances, the IRS has shown its willingness to operate above the will of the people. I am very liberal but from the AP and this, the federal government has been quite disappointing.
The link provided has the actual source for the story. It's not like they deliberately claimed what was on it and hide the source the reader, which some other websites do on purpose.
I am restating my previous question because again you dodged it. Though I may believe certain ideas I am no party loyalist. I don't follow the right wing, and I don't follow the left wing. They are both a part of the same dirty bird. Thank you for your input. This had nothing to do with sources.
