KD was out last year and the Rockets still couldn't beat them as discussed ad nauseum on this site. And the rockets missed all those three's the previous year. Even with an awesome 5 those warriors were vulnerable. Which all brings us to the other question about Morey Ball-Does the style of play work? Will it bring a championship? That is what these moves are made for and what the players play for. That is the end goal. The chip or nothing. period.

This. Morey can only claim to be the "smartest GM" if he has something to show for it. Which is nothing. I feel as if Morey is trading assets and trying to get whatever to beef up the team as a last hurrah. Wouldn't be surprised if he and D'Antoni walk away after this year.

Roco is more like Ariza. It didn't work out the first time, but he's a better fit now.

If you look at his history of transactions the quality of players and draft picks traded away is astounding. Not to mention his history of poor draft picks with the exception of Clint. That’s why clint was special in that he was a player within the morey era that was developed, emerged, played consistently and re-signed. No other draft picks in moreys tenure has done that. Moreys legacy Is polarizing and complex but in the end it will be defined by a championship considering the great costs that have been paid.

Off topic but this story is BS. Jordan was on JV as a sophomore because he wasn’t tall yet. If I remember correctly MJ averaged 40+ a game the year his coach “cut” him. He was not on varsity because the coach was big dumb. I read this in “Playing for Keeps” by David Halberstam.
