This done to offset the Texans NO Hip/Hop allowed. I do agree that the Hip/Hop is geared toward the players during warmups. I'm a big proponent of all types of music and I think RPD's are average at best, it would do them good to diversify the music.

As far as the hip-hop dance moves, I think there are two aspects.

One, it is often the most athletic dancing out there, so that would be a reason.

Two, it is often the most musical dancing out there in regards to finding cincopations within the music, diverse structure within the music, variety of the elements and rhythms in the music. Most moves from hip-hop dancing can be traced back to dance from the early twentieth century or even earlier.

So while it may not be appealing to everyone to listen to, I understand why it might be the most appealing for those that appreciate dance.

Different strokes for different folks. I don't mind the any type of music but the music I spend my monies on is Hard Rock and Heavy Metal. I grew up in the early 80s when Metal was king. I still am stuck in the 80s:grin:

The shirtless dude under the basket. Was that a fan, or someone the Rockets employ? I don't know what you would call what he was doing? Urban, country, I don't know? But I wouldn't want to be sitting next to that. That dude should have been escorted out of the building.

I remember back at The Summit when the cheerleaders (not sure what they were called back then) would put on chaps and do a routine during timeouts...then they would pull out cap guns and shoot them towards the opposing bench.

I wonder how that would go over nowadays........

i think his point is he doesnt like the music and the dance style that is dominate in the arena. It wasnt always like that....and that the majority of the season ticket holders probably feel the same way. Which sober majority probably would.

I am white and do not really listen to rap...but when I go the arena it just seems to fit. The music the dancing...the game. Its just a great entertaining experience. I wouldn't change anything. But you cant knock a guy for his opinion or call him a racist.

He never said black...and is married to a hispanic. I mean thats just stupidity. He used urban which could mean any race in an urban culture. Black...hispanic.........even white. heck if you assume by urban he means black....then aren't you the racist?

Sorry for the rant but this stuff just gets old. We can tear each other apart and call each other names till people are on meds. But drop the word urban or talk about rap music and its a lynching.

    Grow up.
