Because that someone may need a corner moreso than a safety. Getting a top notch CB is much harder to come by than a player playing the safety position. If we didnt have such a huge gaping hole at safety, then it would also be in our best interest to get Hall over Taylor.

But don't the Texans have some flexibility in this? They can draft a CB and move Coleman to the safety spot, or draft a safety and keep the aging CB group as is...or so I thought?

No way Gamble goes that early.

Taking Hall would help the Texans in 3 areas.

    1) CB - Glenn/Hall is better than Glenn/Coleman
    2) S - Coleman's move to safety will improve that area for sure.
    3) PR/KR - Hall is ridiculous here.

Your theory makes sense. I just think that if it were down to Hall vs Taylor left at pick #10, the "safer" way to go would be to draft Taylor. I'm not one of his fanboys pimping him, but Hall was a decent corner who had a stellar workout. If I had some more information, I'd be more confident in taking Hall, but it seems that: 1) his attitude may not go down well with the Texans "class" organization; 2) we need run support from anywhere we can get it, including the CB position, and Hall is apparently "a patsy when it comes to defending the run." Taylor, though cocky, can help stop the run as well as roam the secondary. Needs-wise, I think Taylor fits the bill.

tierre, no doubt we take Taylor over Hall if he was available at 10. I was never disputing that.

My earlier point in saying that some teams may choose Hall over Taylor was IF they had more of a hole at CB than at safety.

Given the Texans situation, I think it would be a no brainer to take Taylor over Hall if both were available.

Sorry, I thought you were arguing possibly in favor of Hall over Taylor:eek: .

At any rate, it seems to be a moot point. I guess the argument should be centered around Udeze vs Harris vs Will Smith?
