I'm pretty sure there was a Ramon Sessions thread about a month ago where we discussed the reasons why he has bounced around the league so much. He is very good on offense, but very BAD on D. Better hope Beverley can play all 82 games this year if we sign Ramon.

What has Canaan done to make you think he's better than Sessions?

So if this happens... either Canaan gets traded, or he's back to 3rd string PG. :(

Canaan is a better player than Lin. But I can't prove it to you based on NBA game stat sheets. Nor can I prove to you that Canaan is better than Sessions. You'll just have to wait and see. In hindsight.

It's his skill set. Canaan can do everything Sessions can do except Canaan can do it at the 3-point line. Sessions cannot shoot the 3 and he's not going to develop a 3 at this stage of his career. He's one-dimensional. He's a push it up point guard who is great in pick-and-roll offense and very aggressive drawing fouls at the rim. That's it.

Let's not sprain our brains on the many possibilities we would have if Sessions were involved in a deal. We'd keep him or he'd go to a third team. We'd use him or other players to upgrade at the 1 or at the 4. We certainly wouldn't start the season with Bev, Sessions, Johnson, and Canaan on the roster.

And is Canaan better than Sessions? And if so, does it matter while our joke of a coach won't play Canaan anyway?

Ish might have been third PG insurance in case nothing came to fruition. Morey certainly learned in the playoffs: what if your first string PG spends the playoffs in the hospital? What if his backup spends the playoffs in the doghouse? What if the backup to the backup was traded to Denver for a player who soon after being acquired could only be found on a milk carton?

Canaan is not good driving to the basket. He's too small and gets eaten up when he goes in there.

And he was not better than Lin last year. He may turn out to be in the future, but last year Canaan just wasn't ready. He wasn't good enough to see any significant minutes on the floor.

Daniels was able to earn some time on the floor at the end of the year. Canaan couldn't sniff any significant minutes.

i can't see the rockets giving up significant assets. a package of canaan and covington at most and only because they'd need to move them anyway for the roster spot.

No, we didn't. None of those people are or were Rockets (save for The Dragon).

The truth is, we've gone from believing one set of rumors to believing a new, different rumor.

Regardless of how you feel about the Clutchfans insiders (I, personally, am a huge fan), but they'll tell you the same... whatever they report to us is subject to change/not happen.

We (meaning the Rockets) haven't done sh** in regards to the players you've named. To quote David Mamet via Alec Baldwin: Only one thing counts in life: get them to sign on the line that is dotted!

Perfectly balanced? Dorsey is a very, very short PF. Capela is a SF/PF.

    Howard/????
    Jones/Dmo/Adrien/Dorsey/Capela
    Ariza/Garcia/Pap
    Harden/Daniels/Johnson
    Bev/Ish/Canaan/Sessions?

Milwaukee will have to take one of our PG's in a sign & trade. I'm assuming that's Canaan. We still don't have a legitimate 2 guard with size & athleticism to spot Harden. Daniels & Johnson are both too undersized to defend legit 2 guards. We may get by in the regular season, but this current team has no chance in the postseason. Who exactly is gonna back Dwight up when he gets in foul trouble? Joey Dorsey? I'm having nightmares already

One of our PG's will most likely be included in the sign & trade.

Agreed. Also everytime Canaan got on the court he produced nothing. He may someday be better than Lin, but right now that statement is foolish. If he were better than Lin now, he would have played in the playoffs.

So you think Morey signed Dorsey to play PF and Capela to play SF?

When we signed Ish there was a plethora of PGs available (and still are) of the same or better quality than Ish. Sessions, Tinsley, Gibson, Jordan Crawford, Earl Watson, Toure Murray (former Viper and shooter), etc. So if we were just looking for a backup "insurance" point guard...we had a lot of options to look at before jumping to sign Ish Smith. Most of those guys are still out there. And at least several of them are better than Ish including Sessions.

Not to mention we're trying to work Troy Daniels in at the point. And Nick Johnson. So Morey jumps on Ish Smith???? That's not the way Morey fills out the roster with an insurance PG. There was some other reason for that signing besides "insurance". Because "insurance" at PG is too low on the totem poll of needs and priorities with this team's holes right now.

The other factor with Sessions: The free agent market is in like it's 8th or 9th week. The market is dead except for the conclusion of the Bledsoe/Monroe sagas...at least until teams start cutting guys in training camp and perhaps a marketable player comes available. All these guys available at this point are minimum salary guys. So signing and trading for Sessions to make more than the minimum makes no sense unless we are setting something else up. There is no market for Sessions. He's a minimum salary player. If he could've gotten more than the minimum it would have already happened.

If this is true, I don't think the Rockets are going for Dragic or Bledsoe or Rubio unless Bev is involved.
