OP didnt give Lin props for scoring 38 points though. He just said even Lin had a 38 point game comparing it to what Harden did tonight. I dont know why you had to be a downer and be all THIS IS ROCKET TERRITORY again. Downer.

Lin had an ok game. After having the pleasure of Watching Brooks/Lowry/Dragic the last couple of seasons post having Rafer freaking Alston as PG i'm kind of spoiled as a Rockets fan. Lin has to do a lot more than he did tonight to have a "great" game. His turnover problems are huge in my opinion. He really has to work on that.

Harden's debut was better than anyone ever with a new team.

WHEN James Harden continues this kind of stellar play, this picture will eventually replace the "Knicks game" pic (or at least give it a run for the money)

I thought "cautiously optimistic" was a good way to describe it. Why don't we all just give it till the break or, heaven forbid, till the end of the season to cast a final judgement.

    Really?

    James Harden
    PPG 25.9
    RPG 4.9
    APG 4.6
    FG% 0.432

    Kobe Bryant
    PPG 26.1
    RPG 5.7
    APG 4.1
    FG% 0.538

    Wade
    PPG 18.4
    RPG 4.3
    APG 4.7
    FG% 0.495

    Westbrook
    PPG 21.1
    RPG 5.1
    APG 7.5
    FG% 0.405

    Carmelo
    PPG 27.3
    RPG 7.3
    APG 1.5
    FG% 0.440

Harden is playing pretty well, people were and are still spoiled by his first two games. He'll have games like that again here and there but he'll be a volume scorer until the team has another go-to player. Lin can be that but the Rockets need to use him a bit better than they are.

Is it the Adidas curse? Or the Kardashian curse?

Harden went from best to worst player in the league fast.

I think it's the Lil B curse, or maybe he's just playing like a complete dumbass and didn't put in the work this summer. Yeah, that's probably it.

The Rockets are too predictable to defend. They only shoot threes or drive to the basket. Which means to defend them have your rim protector in the middle and keep the rest of your guys guarding the 3 point line.
The step back midrange jumper is good weapon in Harden's arsenal, the pull up jumper is a good weapon in Lawson's arsenal. Unfortunately the Rockets strategy eliminates these weapons. The Rockets need to mix things up because if the three is not falling and opponents have a shot blocker or someone that clogs the paint (like Draymond Green) we will continue to struggle to score 95 points.
