I took it as just music from the era that directly influenced or was influenced by grunge..including grunge
We could go round and round with this debate. Round and round. I'll tell you why. Looking at you, looking at me. The way you post, you know it's easy to see.
People have had trouble nailing them down: Prog rock / Art rock / Alt. Metal I call them "earnest", but I do like them.
Punk, Post-punk, New Wave, Dark Wave, Post-Modern, Power-pop, Hardcore, Thrash, Alternative... It all influenced Grunge Nirvana was heavily influenced by The Pixies and Echo & The Bunnymen
Thanks for AIC vids! RIP Layne Staley, does not get the credit he is due. Best vocalist of grunge era God I love this song, thank you and Repped
My favorite grunge band would be AIC no doubt. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/Q6Qc4ydZkaU?list=PLFED08E150AFC9F34" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
<iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/sQOOgQtLI4M" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> One of the most epic songs ever.
There first album maybe a little, but probably not. You're right, but all these great songs keep popping up so why not post them -- we'll keep the focus on grunge bands, but there are some great alt bands that came out during the 'grunge years'. Hard not to include them. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/yOy4C3mh0Es" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
But, as I posted earlier, sp became much better after they dropped the grunge sound of Gish... Well quiet still had a grungy sound. But that's probably the worst song on Siamese dream.
There were a whole bunch of bands that weren't really "grunge", but were superficially close enough that if you squinted they looked kind of grudge-ish. Labels had them record with "grunge producers" like Butch Vig, played up the aspects that were grunge-like and tried cash in on the grunge obsession. Social Distortion. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/aXAU4MmMIMo" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Meat Puppets. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/9-HFbNhTTKQ?list=PLz0kJOebgafQuEpM2KNpmGx_y5uoC2R2O" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Even Sonic Youth had a "grungy" moment. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/N3gN9Up6hmc" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Even a band like the Afghan Whigs, who were one of the core Sub Pop bands, really had their R&B influences toned down to make them more prototypically grunge, because that was the fast track to selling records. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/XwbSY6Tk70I" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Nice BUT that is the farthest thing from grunge!! It's perfect pop if anything, not even in the same universe as grunge mate!!
