Here are some guys (maybe not greatest ever, but good) I remember (mostly Big East):
    Chris Smith at Uconn
    Lawrence Moten at Syracuse
    Dana Barros at Boston College
    Tate George at Uconn
    Kerry Kittles at Villanova
    Kenny Lofton at Arizona
    Jeff Shepherd of Kentucky
    Scoonie Penn at Ohio State
    Kenny Thomas at New Mexico

...there's a ton more in my head, but that just goes to show why college basketball is my favorite sport.

UH's own Dwight Davis. IIRC, he was the fourth pick of an NBA draft (by the Cavs). He lasted a couple of years in the NBA but he was a stud in college. I saw a lot of his games at UH.

I played against Stotty Thurman in high school. You should have seen him back then. He was a 6'5" freshman, starting on the varsity team. He could shoot the ball from anywhere, yet he played like a point center position. He'd bring the ball up the court and stop at the three point line, nothing but net. We all thought he was going to make it big in the NBA.

That's really cool that you played against Thurman in high school. I can imagine he'd have been a man among boys.

What state was this in? Did his teams win any high school championships?

This was in Louisiana. He played for Ruston High School. The team was good but not championship good.

Honestly, what about guys like Othella Harrington, Felipe Lopez, Jimmy King, Ray Jackson, Rex Walters, Adonis Jordan, Kendall Gill, Stevin Smith, Mario Bennett, Tyson Wheeler, and probably the worst:

Glenn Robinson ... No player has lived on a college reputation and a tired nickname longer than "Big Dog."

    UGH!!

I remember Walter Berry pretty well. Just shocked he could not make an NBA roster. Other big Easters, Stevie Thompson, Pearl Washington, Ed Pickney.

Ed Obannon, Ferry, and Thurman were other good picks. Don MacLain (?), Adam Keefe, Todd Lichtie (sp?).

Kind of like Childress, that ex-ASU tweener guard on some NBA team as a 12th man?

I hate to bring this up, but what was that NC State mad shooter, Derrick Whittenberg, or something like that.

    Michael Young

    Donald Williams, JR Reid.

    Lawrence Moten (Max's Florida Buddy)

    Travis Wheeler (Mobley's buddy)

    Billy Donovan

    Steve Alford of course.

Darrel Griffith and Anthony Peeler (OK NBA players, but not close to what you would think)

someone told me about Len Bias......

he was as good as jordan, but had a stronger body and a bit faster.

however, i heard that he died due to celebrating him getting picked due to excessive doping that night.
