Not getting any quality depth but waiting for that elusive 3rd star to fall into Morey’s lap while hoping teams will trade for our scrubs/minimal players.

    Melo anyone?
    Chriss anyone?
    Knight anyone?

Yes. And Kobe was many things - a douche, a chucker, a black hole, arrogant, self-entitled, smug , cult of personality, but he wasn't disloyal. He got some star teammates served up to him by management, but he didn't do the superteam route and didn't bail for an easier route. And I respect him for that. He's also a smart, high-IQ guy.

The front office made a hasty deal to get out of Anderson's contract. As poor as he was in the postseason against the Warriors, he would actually be a useful player right now on the court as a stretch 4 with the ability to shoot occasional 3's. Instead, we dumped him for two players in Knight and Chriss that have given us nothing.

That combined with overpaying for Paul have crippled the FO and our season. Unless Morey pulls a rabbit out of a hat, the Warriors are going to walk into the Finals and win it this season pretty easily.

Let's also not forget Chris Paul was NO DOUBT reassuring management the entire offseason everything would go smooth with Carmelo.

Paul has screwed us MULTIPLE ways since Game 5.

false. we are over the tax line. We can only pay guys so much. Him taking less, we would still be over the line and only able to offer the same max amount. CP3s salary has nothing to do with how much we can pay a player.

we don't miss his misses anyway, he let us down when we needed him in game 7. He went out and got paid more than he is worth and good on him for that

Rockets have 6 rotation players injured right now and Morey is still waiting for Harden to suffer a season ending injury before he gets him some help.

CP3, EG, Capela, Ennis, BK, Carmelo (???)

If Morey isn't even going to bother doing his job, we should've shut Harden down 2 months ago and tanked for Zion.

We miss his defense- the Rockets would have won tonight, that's for sure. On a team with a small window, letting assets who can guard four positions walk without a decent replacement was stupid. Ariza could play defense and, at worst, was a $15 million expiring contract!

Morey is a great GM... but has no personnel skills...

The season started with the whole Bzdelik/Melo debacle... I believe Jeff quit bc of how Melo did him in denver - and then Morey banished Melo to bring Jeff back... You can think ow - but it looks obvious to me... c'mon yer gonna pursue Melo and get a cut rate deal - only to ditch him after 10 games (and harden didnt even play 3 of those games...) and Bzelik miraculously returns? From that point CP3 was pissed and prob Harden too, since they wanted Melo... Harden and CP3 were still working their stat lines - but it didnt seem like a unified team to me... and I still dont see Bzdelik getting the defensive effort he got last year... yes, different personnel - but I'm talking effort...

This whole House thing is crap... he waives House - to convert Clark... and then after House contributes on the 2 way, he wants to lowball him on a long term deal? When House isnt willing to take the minimum for 3 years... rather than just convert him (which he could do with no prob) and utilize him this year, Morey wants to be pissy and play hardball... hurt our depth and potentially this kids future?!? So you go from this years 'local kid makes good' feel good story (like GG last year) to the players see how DM will treat you if you dont cow down to his desires... and people wonder why Morey has the rep of seeing players like assets...

Morey is obviously great with the analytics... and sharp as a tack when it comes to juggling the numbers... but when it comes to understanding people and smoothing over situations - he has a ways to go...

here is my post from yesterday...

Do people not realize that more than likely this has NOTHING TO DO WITH TILMAN BEING CHEAP... and has NOTHING TO DO WITH CP3'S BLOATED CONTRACT...

We ONLY have part of the MLE left to spend - period! We are over 30M over the cap (yes, he's so cheap that we're spending over 30M over the salary cap...) Either we spend it on House or we save it and see who gets bought out... plus Morey is trying to get a longer commitment from House at a cheap rate...

Personally, I think we should pay House... but the decision not to is more than likely based on Morey wanting to see what options come along during the buyout period and seeing if the money is better spent there...

And all but 6.5M of CP3s contract is 'over the cap money' that we couldnt use to sign new contracts this year regardless... and if we had let him walk and had that 6.5M in capspace, then we wouldnt have the 5.585M mle to spend - so thats a wash! So his fat contract isnt preventing us from signing anybody this year..

I said this the moment Tilman Fertita bought the team. The guy is a cheap POS that has no business being an NBA owner.
And now every time I call him cheap on Twitter I have this clown (Ben Dubose) trying to explain to me how he is not cheap.
Ben literally told me that Tilman isn’t cheap bc he offered House more guaranteed money for more years. ARE YOU STUPID!?!? TILMAN AND DM OFFERED THE GUY A LITTLE OVER $4 MILL FOR 3 YRS!!! THAT’S $1.5 MILL A YEAR FOR A STARTER WHO’S A HUGE CONTRIBUTER TO OUR TEAM!
You know who else makes or will make $1.5 mill a year? Melo, Ennis, MCW (while he was in HOU), Clark, & Hartestein. NONE OF THESE GUYS GET ANY PT!!! WHY TF WOULD HOUSE EVER TAKE A $1.5 MILL A YEAR SALARY FOR THE NEXT 3 YRS?!?
Ben if you’re reading this you’re a complete moron and Tilman fanboy. I understand you probably work for the team or something around that field but let’s be real and recognize real.
Tilman buying the Rockets was the biggest mistake the NBA and Les could’ve done. The guy relies on casinos and restaurants for his fortune.
It’s evident he’s cheap AF bc he also lowballed Ariza with a stupid vet minimum contract. Now he’s trying to do the same with House.
I definitely blame this 110% on Tilman. I’m frustrated with DM bc I understand Tilman probably has DM’s hands tied and limits him to how much he can spend if any on trades or FA’s but c’mon DM, the best you could’ve done was Ennis and MCW?!? You telling me not even Nick Young would’ve been better then either of those 2 for probably less money.

No the owner is the problem. Sure Morey and his team made some mistakes last summer, particularly with the CP contract. Hoever the fact that we are surrounding Harden, a superstar in his prime, with a bunch of G leaguers who may not find jobs elsewhere in the NBA has everything to do with our owner’s cheapness. We are wasting a historic season from our franchise player and I can’t imagine that he’d be happy with this for much longer.

paying cp3 $35 million a year with harden and capela under contract doesn't do a lot to help the "tax line"

Of course it is. We have top2 sg of all time and we surround him with journeymen. Meanwhile Miluwakee is able to surround Giannis with perfect cast and coaching within 2 seasons
