Nothing in the bill from last night would change anything about DACA. DACA does not expire until March. The bill on the table only funded the government until mid February when congress would reconvene to complete permanent funding and finalize DACA moving forward.

The answer is not apparent. Why not just answer the question.

So you think only a republican would ever put the health and welfare of US Citizens above the health and welfare of non-US citizens? That’s a sad indictment of the Democratic Party if true.

Of course we know that’s not true since 5 Democrats voted for the bill last night.

Is the GOP willing to do the same by attaching provisions that should be put in a stand alone clean bill attached to all the ridiculous pork along with the draconian spending cuts to services that are used by the most vulnerable in this country?

This is the GOP right now -"Look we just passed a tax bill that adds 1.8 trillion to the deficit just so 40% of the cuts go to less than 1% of the population, a entity of people who are already holding on to the most accumulated wealth of all time and now we want to pass a draconian spending bill that slashes funding for services utilized mostly by middle and poor class individuals and attach some provisions that should have been delt with by itself months ago and then proceed to blame Democrats who aren't even the majoirty party in any branch of government today for a shutdown."

No, I'm not ok with sacrificing the health and welfare of millions of kids (see the CHIP thread, where I don't recall you voicing any concern when the GOP wouldn't renew it for months and you seem to not understand how the GOP is using it as political chip). And No, I'm not ok with not resolving DACA. And No, i'm not ok with a government shutdown.

As long as Trump think immigrants are ***** and listen to the extreme in his party, there is never going to be a deal. There are deals, if Trump allow one. This absolutely fall on his head. Second is GOP leadership for being sheep. Third is for a lack of any leadership from anyone.

Either Trump is too dumb to realize this (a very good possibility), or he does want a shutdown like he said last year.

No. DACA should not be a clean bill because it’s part of a larger issue. DACA should be a part of a larger sulotion that includes things like securing our boarders and chain immigration. The parties are deep into discussions about that.

The health and welfare of US citizens should never be contingent on helping non-US citizens but that is what the Democratic Party did last night.

What was the rush to renew since the expiration was months away? No reasonable person should have ever thought the Democratic Party would turn on it’s citizens the way they did last night. A bill was on the table prior to expiration and the Democratic Party votes no to fund it because there were no provisions to help non-US citizens.

Last night the Democratic Party put DACA above the health and welfare of millions of US citizens including soldiers and children.

Are you trying to convince yourself? You ain't convincing anyone. #PeopleAren'tStupid

CHIP was never an issue with wide support, and not renewing for months has cause issues for States. You probably didn't realize the impact (go read if interested, but I don't think you are).

You keep repeating this extreme right wing talking point but most Americans understand the truth, that Democrats and most reasonable Republicans agree that DACA protection is fair. That a bipartisan agreement to cover both DACA and border security was possible if it were not for trump and extreme right people like Cotton and Perdue.

It's kind of funny you'd make this allegation as the chief propagandist of the extreme left on this board.
