Especially since it goes on behind closed doors so could easily be rigged and indeed there's no way (unlikely) that the Rockets get in at 13/14.

The lottery is conducted in the presence of representatives from each lottery team. It's not rigged.

Well, at least not since 1985. ;)

There are some crazy people on here, like people thinking the Rockets can get a top 3 pick. Rockets have a 1.8% chance...Do you know what that means? It means out of 100 draws rockets win about 2 times..The delusion around here.

True, but the possibility is still there. One can dream right? Wasn't there 1 team who won the lottery with the lowest odds? I'm not sure who, but Orlando (drafting Shaq) comes to mind.

Didn't they change from envelopes to a computer program sometime ago?

What are the representatives going to watch, someone press the enter key?

Root for Dallas? I wouldn't mind having 3 first round picks.

It was Orlando in 1993, the year AFTER they got Shaq. Won the Chris Webber Sweepstakes, but traded down for Penny Hardaway. The league re-weighted the lottery odds after that.

Frankly, given all the tanking, I'd like to see them go back to those old lottery odds.

Actually, I believe they still use numbered ping pong balls, with each team owning a certain number of combinations. The team reps are watching as each numbered ball is drawn.

    No buttons.

With Stern and everything going on behind closed doors I will never trust the lottery. Guys as crooked as Stern are smart, they make sure nobody knows how they can trick the system but best believe he will try everything possible to favour any1 he likes. Not necessarily him though, there's always a group (of maybe few individuals) behind the man in the spotlight.

Machine is rigged. Weighted balls just like weighted dice. :)

DAVID STERN GIVE ME BACK MY SON.

I think we should trade with the T.WOlves and send our highest pick along with Martin to Minny for their first round pick and call it a day.......Thoughts?

Draft a player that is more suited to start and contribute ASAP....Big chance you can nab a star with that pick.

Their pick this year belongs to the New Orleans Hornets.

I think the Rockets should focus on two teams to deal with in the offseason for picks. Thats Portland and Boston. Try to get two picks from both. A 1st and a 2nd. Use Martin, Lowry and Scola. Try to get Portlands #7 and the highest 2nd rounder they have then try for Boston's #23 and one of their 2nd rounders. Again, keep Boykins, release Thomas, Simpson and Fortson to create space. Yes, i am talking about going into this draft with 6 picks.

13 and 17? Is that what this season is going to be?

Lottery is absolutely rigged...I dont care what anyone says...what the cavs got last year?? D rose..wizards getting wall after arenas...

It always works out a team with a major loss gets compensated by a high pick. Id NO gets no 1....and then we no for sure.

So by your assumption, Houston should be very high on the list for a top draft pick because of this past offseason.

Getting 1 is possible for NO, but getting 1 and 2/3 would be rediculous. With stern, anything is possible.

not really...we didnt take a major loss via Free Agency like lebron...or get arenas thrown in jail.

So no I dont believe we will be entitled to anything...Stern has repeatedly said it was part of the normal process. I dont think he values that as a major injury to a team...as much as a failed deal.

Houston currently has the 12th Pick and the 17th pick

Dallas currently has the 19th pick, if they fall to 21st we get it.
