http://upwithchrishayes.msnbc.msn.c...omney-welfare-parents-need-to-go-to-work?lite Of course the 'dignity of work' does not apply to his wife. Stay at home women married to rich white man, raising 5 kids = hard work (ssshhh don't mention the nannies). Stay at home women on welfare, raising 5 kids = lazy (Without nannies by the way).
You're just going to have to live with the fact that single mothers are the enemies of the state; the ones who cost the state so much that they can barely afford to buy the military that is more or less 50% of the world expenditure on arms required to protect us from this threat.
I don't even live in America. (so lol to the standard "why don't you leave the country if you find flaws in it" red herring argument)
For someone who loves sanctity of life so much, you seem to have a problem with the actual process that goes behind it.
This is what we say everytime you go into DaDepression mode on GARM and start wallowing in self-pity about how nobody likes you - it has never proven successful unfortunatley.
If you want a strong America, it's better to make sure the children are healthy, get cared for, and get a good education than it is to play a game of chicken with their mothers. As for Romney's statement, I don't have any strong feelings one way or the other. I don't see how his wife's situation applies beyond the superficial rhetoric.
It's actually quite simple. If you're a well-to-do mother who can afford to stay home with your kids (and other niceties such as home schooling, private schools, nannies etc.) then you have plenty of dignity, and there's nothing wrong with you. In fact, we should probably give you a tax break. If you're poor, can't find a job and depend on welfare checks just to put food in your kid's mouth, then you have no dignity, are a parasitic leech on the state and need to get off your lazy behind and get a job, darnit. And by the way, if any of you liberals dare criticize this position, you are automatically guilty of class warfare. Did I miss anything?
Godwin's law is r****ded. Should we pretend the Holocaust never happened or that it could never happen again? If you cuss, you lose. If you insult, you lose. If you mention Hitler, you lose. These are baby words more suited to bumper stickers or truckstop t-shirts than adult conversation. Because guess what. Adults can and often do say ****, ****, idiot, ******* and Hitler.
It doesn't bother me at all when you say this because you probably aren't trying to get a good rate on a car elevator. Nobody that was born into or married into millions or zillions of dollars has any business lecturing the poor on anything. And they certainly don't have any business lecturing on dignity, work, or 'the dignity of work.' That Mitt Romney would have the nuts to say such a thing is the funniest, saddest, funniest again, saddest again thing I ever heard.
