For the most part I like this guy's video. Note the 'contract' dispute at the end of career Spoiler: contract Cheap ass Les wouldn't pay Dream so he went to Toronto. After all the overpaid crap players we had, no Rockets fan wouldn't mind an overpaid Dream for 1 year for all the underpaid years he had. Chicago paid Jordan like 30 million for his last year there(a crap ton for the late 90s)
Lol ... I can only imagine what financially troubled Tailman Forgeta would’ve done to Dream ... probably would’ve turned off half the lights at the Summit as he kicked him out.... ....... ....... .......
bet you harden retires a Rocket and Dream was there before Les I hope they catch him at the massage spa in Florida with Robert Kraft you know his ass lives in Florida
Hakeem really is one in a billion. You couldn't write a more inconceivable story, and yet it happened. He was the hero to immigrants and underdogs everywhere. I'm a Rockets fan because my pops loves Hakeem...even though he's a Chinese dude from Hong Kong he still feels like Hakeem represents him. When I tried reminding him that Patrick Ewing is also an immigrant he wouldn't have any of it though
A good video, but the last sentence is not correct. Rudy and CD wanted him back for sentimental reasons, but they knew Hakeem was sadly done as a player, so they agreed to trade him. Hakeem wanted to retire a Houston Rocket, but then he changed his mind. Prior to that Rudy nixed the potential trade of Hakeem for Tracy McGrady when the latter was a young Raptor. I'm sure that hurt Hakeem's feelings, however he kept soldiering on for the Rockets.
Indeed he was! As @BaselineFade said, he's from Jamaica originally but moved to the States when he was pretty young. He does a great job of speaking without his native accent, but around friends you can hear it slip out from time to time. Here's an example of him letting his guard down and sounding a little more Jamaican.
Hakeem says in his autobio that he and Patrick became friends in college due to the fact that they were both immigrants. Patrick even introduced Hakeem to reggae!
I was in a shop at Georgetown U. in the 1980's when Ewing walked in with two girls. That dude's chest was as big as barrel.
I don't know where you get this idea that Texas fans or bigger colleges in Texas fans disrespect UH I doubt you knew Houston when Dream was at UH
We are here because Clutch created this site for Rockets fans This site was not built for fans of commuter colleges or certain players who don't play here. It was for the Rockets fans like you.
