I think he can shoot, but you have to have some playing time to show it. Dmo can be an offensive force with playing time, that is his greatest strength.
we're talking about the same guy who didn't think highly of chauncey billups (in his prime), ray allen, among other blunders as a gm. Many mchale apologists will say that the job of a gm is so different from a head coach but the aspect of a gm's job of recognizing talent is related to the coach's job of allocating playing time. And Mchale was the lead advocate for acquiring Royce White.
If anything, I think there's some sort of hidden DMo-CWebb connection. Maybe Donatas is a fan of Chris and just wants to play good whenever CWebb is a broadcaster for the game. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/jrf4bl0Ze9g" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
He doesn't have anything against DMo , but what I'm saying is when he was minnesota gm and coach he had a history of not being able to recognize talent. Chauncey Billups was the minnesota timberwolves pointguard and they released him . that's when he blew up with the detroit pistons. As general manager, Mchale had the chance to pick Ray Allen but chose Marbury instead. He had a history of making poor decisions when it comes to recognizing talent. Now, people will say that being a gm is totally different from coaching but on that aspect its similar.
Sure he'll be gone if salaries need to match, but like most 15th men, Brewer's main purpose is practice.
Anyone else think D-Mo should replace Casspi as our backup PF? The biggest knock on DMo's offense is him not hitting the 3-pointer to spread the floor effectively (2-15 for the season with limited minutes), but he is quite crucial as a big body. Meanwhile, Casspi has shot 3-14 from the 3pt land in the last 5 games and he's not a good defensive end. At the end of the day, both Casspi and DMo seem to have similar floor spreading capabilities as of late, so why not have a mobile 7-footer with great passing ability out there as our backup PF behind Jones. And keep Omri in a backup SF role alongside Cisco.
Or am I the only one who would do the Boston trade? Bass would be the back up 4 playing with D-Mo and Courtney Lee would back up Harden or Parsons at some Time, they are both playing decent this season and we would get a first round pick aswell
Dmo is so good in the post. Could be sixth man if not the starter. He can score with ease down there.
Dmo has done this time and time again, but he always follows it up with a total dud the next game. We'll see what happens this time, but let's not overreact to one game.
Kelvin Cato. But seriously, I hope DMo brings it like this for the whole season. Would be awesome! NBA players often make a big 'leap' between their 2nd and 3rd seasons - shows what kind of player they are going to be. If DMo is going to be a 10ppg scorer off the bench, will be huge for this team.
If he keeps playing like this he'll win Most Improved Player, Sixth Man, and we'll be going to the NBA Finals!!!! Seriously though, between DMo and Dwight, come fourth quarter, there won't be any centers left on the opposing team who haven't fouled out.
