Starting Lineup Wood: 26 Green: 19 Tate: 26 House: 28 Gordon: 32 Average age of 26 years old, 28 if we remove Green from the equation. Average age of players that played at least 15 minutes or more Wood: 26 Green: 19 Tate: 26 Augustin: 34 Gordon: 32 Matthews: 25 Theis: 29 Average age of 27 years old, 29 years old if we remove Green from the equation. That means for this game, with the exception of Green, most of the minutes were taken up by players with an average age of 29 years old. I am not sure if I have ever seen a tanking team field a line-up as old as this. With the exception of Gordon, this lineup looks like the Rockets picked the 8th or 9th best player on a playoff team and gave them all minutes to see if they win.
Really.hopong House, Gordon and Theis are traded by the deadline and is the main reason why they get the playing time. Though playing House does the opposite of increasing trade value. It's just better to hide him... Or waive him.
So basically we played mostly vets against a team that we had a decent chance of beating but still lost by double digits. I'd like the "If we bring back John Wall we'd be a playoff team!" crowd to chime in here.
I don’t think we woulda been a playoff team . But , I think we coulda fought for the play-in vs being all-time-bad. Wall Gordon Tate Theis Sengun Pretty good lineup
Unfortunately the coach don't think Sengun is good enough to even get 6 minutes a night so the starting lineup you're going to get WILL include Wood
coach knows sengun is good . Idk what we are trying to do . I actually understand leaving Theis in .. I did think he was playing well . But I don’t think we are trying to win. Poor poor Tate
If he knows Sengun is good and refuses to play him in a game against an opponent that could have been beaten to stop the losing streak then we have a huge and toxic issue on our hands. As for whether or not we're trying to win, like I said before, the losses will continue to happen because we don't have enough talented players on most given nights. Our best players can't tilt the frame to win because some of our best players are other teams' 6th, 7th, 8th or 9th best. There's no logical reason to keep Sengun on the bench if he's healthy and can play. Giving Theis more minutes because he's FINALLY having a good run is ridiculous. I know you're not defending Silas but it's pretty evident that Silas don't know what he's doing. Of course, as the coaching experts on here have told me, "It ain't coaching!" that's the problem.
The „we’re a young team“ crowd in shambles. Thunder are actually that super young team people claim we are. And they’re much much better than us.
for sure we have a **** ton of problems but some on here were in denial that coaching is/was one problem.
Losing streak or not the rockets still have the same number of losses as another team in the league. Whatever conjecture is stated about this team hopefully it works out again this season and they get lucky with a top 4 pick.
Not in the Wall crowd, but besides for Wood, Gordon, and Tate, he's probably better than every other Rocket that can drink legally. P.S. I don't think Wall should get many minutes if any under normal circumstances (I.e., KPJ or a PG being developed is available)
I mean the vets are average to below average or just old. Eric Gordon had some rookie moments himself, getting stripped. This ish is probably contagious. In the beginning the team was new and OKC was not good and was not prepared the first game. I think bringing in Wall is trying to set up the Offense in a new way and try something out.
Are they though? You can have the youngest team but if OKC's coach starts Favors at PF and Muscala at center then that age for the starters goes up.
Their usual lineup is Roby Bazley Dort SGA Giddey Or in this case JRE instead of Roby Muscala and Favors combined for 32 minutes and are the only „old guys“ that had PT for them last night. so yes they are
